Dad

     November 1,2018.
University of Benin teaching hospital(UBTH).
My dad was rushed to surgery immediately and has been in comma for 4 days. My mum has been by his side through out,spend most of the time crying and other times praying.
"I promise you if you wake up,I will not quarrel with you again, I have already agreed that Osahon can marry Ore,I don't care anymore if I am poor, I can start again a hundred times as long as you are with me all the way", she cried.
I looked at her from the hospital glass. Oghogho came to the hospital and came to where I stood.
" do you think he would wake up?",she asked in a cracked voice.
"Of course he will,he just needs time", she went inside and consoled mum.
     After some few hours I went home.
I saw Ella packing some food.
" hey baby you look hungry,come let me serve you ",she started to arrange the plate.
" I am not hungry",
"Come on you haven't eaten well in days",
" how can I eat when I see my father in the same spot everyday, no improvement ",I sat down on the dinning table.
" there will be, it's your dad,he is a fighter and he wouldn't give up",
"You know I tell others that he will wake up,that he just needs time but I can't wait anymore, the more I see him on that bed,the more I feel sad",
" OK enough stop talking about your dad, I will feed you myself OK",she served the food.
       November 3,2018.
I was on my bed sleeping when my phone rang,I looked at the time, it was 5am.
"Hello",
" hello baby",it's was mum,she was crying.
"Mum what happened?, did some thing happen to dad?",
" your dad...baby your dad is awake ",
" oh my God,I will be there,just give me a few minutes ",I hanged the call and called Ella.
" hello boo",Ella said with a sleepy voice.
"Ella my dad has woken up",
" wow I will go right away ",she said as if the sleep immediately left her eyes.
" no it's too late,OK I will come and pick you ",
" you have to go to the hospital, you wouldn't have chance to pick me",
"I am already on my way",
" OK see you soon baby",
"Bye my love",I hang the call and hurried out took my car keys from the stool and drove to pick up Ella but it wasn't only Ella who was ready,Ore was also ready.
" she wanted to come too",
"OK everyone, get in the car".
We got to the hospital and Oghogho was already there,the doctors already finished checking on him,my mum was smiling and crying at the same time, then Osahon came in.
" I am sorry I am late I was half way across town",said Osahon.
Though our father was in comma Osahon couldn't leave the company, he still work and I am proud of him for that fact because I haven't been able to go to work since my dad collapsed, Osahon was coming from a business meeting.
November 10,2018.
My father was discharged today, he was considered healthy. My mum haven't left his sight ever since.
"The doctor said you need to eat plenty fruits",said my mum.
" I think with the amount of fruits I have eaten lately,one day I will turn to a fruit ",said my dad and the rest of us laughed except from my mum.
" that's not funny",said my mum and we stopped laughing.
"So dad is there anything you need?", asked Oghogho.
" no,thank you ".
       Later that day.
My dad called all of us to the sitting room, he wanted to talk to us,my mum,Osahon and Oghogho. We all sat and listened.
" before I was duped, Mrs Ogbemudia came to me and told me to stop leaving with scraps,she informed me about this new company to invest called the kings corporation they said they would double my money and I knew investing would be good so I agreed and also I trusted her,we are childhood friends ",
" are you trying to say...?",I cut Oghogho.
"Yes Oghogho they planned it all",
"But why?", asked Osahon.
" that's is what we don't know but you guys will find out right?",asked mum.
"Yes we will", said I and Osahon.
" count me out,I am not in to that ",said Oghogho.
November 11,2018.
I and Osahon tried to investigate.
" they have been friends for so long ",said Osahon.
" that's the reason why they could get to him",
"What would she be gaining by duping him?",
" to get all of his money",
"What???",
" yes they planned to get his money and put him in a spot that he wouldn't refuse,his first son marries their daughter and then they give him little of what he used to own and he glorifies them,thinking they saved him when they actually did the opposite ".
     November 12,2018.
Osahon was drinking from the Bar in our house, I saw worry in his face. So I went to him.
" you don't have to worry, all will be fine, soon enough we will have evidence against Mr and Mrs Ogbemudia",
"No that's not the reason I am this way",
" then why are you this way? ",
" early today I went to get coffee from the coffee shop but while coming out I saw Osaro across the road crying, I didn't notice at first because I was on call and when I notice I wanted to walk away but I had a change of heart and went to meet her",
"And what was she up to this time?", I asked.
"Are you OK?", I asked.
" I am OK,just leave me alone ",said Osaro.
" but you are crying ",I said.
" just go OK",she shouted.
"You can tell me anything Osaro,you know that", I said.
Then she turned to me and hugged me with her hands around my neck resting on me while crying louder than before, saying
" I am sorry, I really am,I didn't mean any of this,I swear,it was just too much,the pressure was too much",
So I offered to buy her a coffee and she agreed,I asked her what was wrong but she said it's nothing.
"You can talk to me Osaro because we are no longer together doesn't mean you can't talk to me anymore", I said.
" we never talked before ",she said.
" really we don't? ",i asked surprisedly.
" our relationship was really crap then",said I.
"Yes I guess it was", she said.
" even if we didn't speak before doesn't mean we can't speak now,you can still talk to me, OK why don't we start again I am Osahon Osagie, just a simple man with little money what about you? ",I asked.
" well my name is Osaro Ogbemudia with a lot of money",she said and we started laughing.
It was fun hanging with her I was....",Osahon was smiling and he raised his eyes to look at my serious face then the smile faded.
"OK so i asked her if I was the reason she was sad,if it was because we broke up?,
" oh no I am over that,maybe not over that because all my friends mock me telling me that I said I wanted to marry an Osagie the first born,they said marry him now,it so hurts",she said.
And I thought that was the reason why she was sad, right? ",asked Osahon.
" no I don't think so,I think she was sad because of something else",I said but Osahon wasn't listening any more.
"Bro", I called out.
" yeah what?",he asked.
"What are you thinking about or is there more?", I asked.
" oh no,there isn't",he said as he got up and left slowly saying there isn't continuously.
