‘Come on, we don’t have much time.’ Zoe said as she draped her arm around Liam for support.
The three of us were bruised and bleeding but we managed to get up.
Harry and Louis took one of Niall’s arms each and started to drag him from the building.
Zayn helped Rachel and offered to help me as well.
I shook my head.
‘You guys go on, I’ll catch up in a second.’
They all started to protest but I interrupted.
‘I’ll only be a second, honest!’ I raised my eyebrows firmly and they reluctantly left me there.
Limping as quickly as I could, I fell down next to Nicolas broken body.
Her eyes were dully staring at the ceiling not seeing anything.
I brushed the dark hair from her face gently, letting the tears fall from my face onto her shoulder.
People say that the dead look peaceful, as if sleeping. But Nicola didn’t.
She just looked... blank.
I reached into my pocket and dug something out.
Placing the chocolate bar wrapper into her hand, I closed her fist around it.
I don’t know why, but it felt right. Returning the one thing she had given me.
Well, the one physical thing. She had given me so much more than that.
She had given me friendship, laughter, hope.
Closing her eyelids over the lifeless brown eyes, I whispered
‘Goodbye Nicola.’
And with that I left the training centre, once and for all.
