Wasted Youth Introduction

✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿

In a town like Point Place, Rebecca Forman is pretty certain that everything about life is limited to very few choices. When it comes to education, there's only the local public school or the one private Catholic school. When it comes to fast food, there's really only The Hub and the Fatso Burger. For fun times, specifically when it comes to Becca's friend group, there's really only her basement. For friends, it seems to come down to the people you've known for the majority of your life which is why the regular suspects in the basement rarely ever change. Clique jumping is a major social offense or at least that's what Becca is told by the preppy cheerleader that's been making herself comfortable in the basement for the past year (apparently clique jumping rules don't apply to Jackie Burkhart, who knew?).

The last thing that has limited options in the small Wisconsin town is choice of romantic partners. Which is probably why Becca's never actually had an actual boyfriend (there was that one kid she kissed in fifth grade, but he tasted like hot dogs and it was on a dare, so . . . ) and why her twin brother Eric has only ever been interested in their longtime neighbor and friend. It seems that when it comes to romance, you either have to put yourself out there entirely to try and make a connection or you end up with someone you've known since kindergarten. Becca would rather not have the latter happen to her.

And because Becca would rather not end up with one of her friends and risk ruining years worth of friendship, naturally a strange series of events leads her do the exact opposite of what she wants: falling for Steven Hyde, the sex and rock music obsessed boy with a permanent seat in her basement and, apparently, a rather tight grip on her heart.

author's note: I've recasted Hyde solely based on the fact that Danny Masterson has multiple rape allegations against him and I'm not comfortable writing with him in mind. If that bothers you, then I don't know what to tell you other than that you should probably leave to reconsider your entire life if you're cool with a rapist. Anyways, I've replaced him with Heath Ledger, specifically the 10TIHAY era Heath which is just a bonus honestly. This plot is a bit cliche and I'm a bit new to the That '70s Show fandom, so bear with me. I have a shit ton planned for Becca and Hyde and I couldn't be more excited.
