Marvel Fanfiction: "B" Team

Chapter 5

Recap: 

Before Strange could get any further, Rocket's voice was heard over the speakerphone, "We're here" he said. They looked up to see Thanos' mighty ship appear in the window. Dr. Strange took a moment to glance over at Loki. It was subtle, but the prince was shaking.

At the sound of Rocket's voice, the rest of the team entered into the main area. Ant-man was suited up, prepared for his new mission. "Rocket we need you to get us right over the ship. We need to stay there just long enough to drop off Scott" Shuri instructed.

Their ship veered closer to the battleship and Scott made his way to the exit. "God I hope this works." He said and without another word, he shrunk down to the size of an ant and leaped out of the ship. 

Ant-man screamed as he flew through space and hit the ship below him. "Be strong Scott. You've got this." He said as he gave himself a pep talk. He climbed his way up the side of the ship until he found an opening and crawled in. 

Shuri's transmitter crackled to life, "I'm in." 

Shuri had taken over the main room, turning it into her own workspace and pulling up displays and monitors trying to recreate the ship and find where the rest of the Avengers were being held. With the help of her tracking device, she was able to create an x-ray of the ship, locating three possible locations for where the Avengers could be held. Now, all it took was finding a way to disable the ship's monitors so they could sneak onto the ship without being noticed. Scott was already in but they'd need more men on the ground to get their team out, especially if what Loki said was right and they had brain-washed some of their team. Shuri was adamant that her shock guns could disrupt the tesseract's power over the Avengers if they got close enough, but that wouldn't stop the brainwashed Avengers from sounding an alarm or alerting a guard before they got the chance. Shuri looked around the room at who they had left. Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Doctor Strange, Spider-man, Mantis, and Deadpool stood ready to help. "Right, Rocket and Groot you will take the South entrance," Shuri said, showing them where it could be found on the map. She pressed on the headset in her ear, "Scott, I need you to get the control panel four doors down from where you are now and turn off the monitors." 

"On it." He replied. Shuri turned to the rest of the group, "Once Scott gets the sensors off, you two will drop in here and check to see if the Avengers are in this chamber" Shuri pointed to the room on the x-ray, it was one of the areas she had located as a possible prison chamber.  "Wade, Peter, Mantis you three will take the east entrance. Stephen I'm hoping you can maybe open a portal for those three to get in?" Shuri asked. Dr. Strange indicated that he could. "Good because I can't find an entrance point for this side. Once the monitors are off you should be able to open a portal without raising any alarms." Finally, "Strange, Loki, and Nebula, I need you three to get into North entrance." The group's eyes widened. "You want the little green goblin on the mission?" Deadpool asked. Loki had to admit even he was surprised, he wasn't expecting to have been asked on this mission and wasn't even sure he was ready for it. "Loki could be useful and we need all the hands we've got. Besides, if he steps out of line Mr. Strange will take care of him." Shuri looked Stephen in the eyes as she said this. She had said it confidently, but when she looked at Strange, he could tell it was really more of a question. She didn't truly understand all of Loki's power and wanted to make sure Stephen could deal with it. Again Dr. Strange gave his nod of consent. "Good. Then it's go-time. Scott are we ready?" Shuri asked.

"On your word Shuri." Ant-man replied.

"Now." Shuri said and immediately Rocket and Groot jumped out of the ship.

"Beam me up Scotty" Deadpool exclaimed as Strange opened a portal for Peter, Mantis, and Wade to walk through.

Dr. Strange looked at Nebula and then at Loki, still concerned about the Prince's mental state, but Loki's smirk and characteristic smugness had returned, Stephen took it to mean he was ready. Dr. Strange undid the magical constraints that bound Loki and opened up a portal for the three of them. 

Shuri could see from the screen that they all had made it into their locations as planned. She let out a sigh of relief. 

"Scott, get to the Southside, Rocket and Groot may need your help."

"Roger that captain," Ant-Man replied.

Shuri couldn't help but beam a little bit when Ant-Man called her captain. She had become the captain of this team, now she only hoped that her plan would work.
