"Wait so your saying you met her in the street?" Grace asked.

"It was more like the sidewalk for me. She was in her car and well she said she liked the bike and things went from there," I explained.

"What do you know about her? From all we know she could be an axe murder," she said.

I knew she was joking but I never really did think too much on how we came to know each other.  Even though we only have known each other for a couple of days, talking to her just seemed normal. Familiar.

How we came into each others lives didn't really matter to me. I was just glad to know her.

"Who could be an axe murder?" A voice said behind me and I couldn't help but jumped.

I turned around and see Grace's friend, Piper, walking towards us.

"Oh hey Piper. You scared me," I told her.

She laughed, "You're easily scared Leighton," she laughed again, "so, back to my question; who could me an axe murder?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Leighton met some girl on the streets because of my bicycle. He barely knows her and," she paused and leaned into Piper, "I think he may have a crush."

"Woah sis. She's just a nice person. I can't be friends with nice people? And don't forget I have a girlfriend already," I paused, "just forget it and why axe murder?" I told her.

She shrugged, "you can have a girlfriend and still find people attractive and aren't most axe murders perceived as nice and then BAM your dead."

Before I got a chance to defend myself Liberty came back into eyesight. I didn't notice how far she had walked off. Must've been an important call.

"Hey listen-" Liberty said as she came back put paused, "hi," she told Piper.

"Hi I'm Piper," Piper smiled but glance over at me.

"Liberty," she smiled.

When she smiled I noticed something different. I'm not sure what but her smile shifted and seemed forced maybe? Like she was uncomfortable maybe?

"So umm...Listen Leighton, my mom called say she wants me back home so I need to go," she said trying her best to sound normal. I could tell though something was off.

"Yea sure. I'll walk you back. Sis-" I got cut off.

"No. It's fine I can walk back by myself," she told me and began heading back the way we came.

"Hey wait up!" I began to walk towards her, "I'm not letting you walk back alone. It's getting late and -"

"Leighton it's fine I've walked through here a million times nothings going to happen," she turned to me and smiled, "see you."

She jogged off.

It's not like I know her very well but whatever that phone call was, it wasn't a good one. I couldn't help but want to go after her but that would be ridiculous. I hardly know the girl.

So I didn't. All I could do was stare as she ran off hoping, she would be okay.
