Harry's P.O.V
A slight breeze ruffled my hair which was pulled back from my forehead by one of my daughters headbands. The trees were tall, hiding us from view of anyone who tried to come into the private property. The wild of the place was acknowledged by the smell of the pine and the animals that roamed free.
My ears picked up the sound of someone approaching, but I stayed still and silent, watching the clearing in the midst of the pine forest, camouflaged by the long stalks of grass I was currently sat in to hide myself and mask my scent.
The steps stopped suddenly, and the familliar ruffle of wings unfurling sounded. I tensed, forcing my own wings to remain still. Then a young battlecry rung through the trees and a small weight was on my back, forcing me to the ground.
As soon as the attack was over the beautiful sounds of laughter pierced my ears, and I found myself grinning. I flipped over, catching sight of the two year old hovering in the air, her dove-grey wings keeping her off the ground.
She was two, but she looked about six thanks to her accelerated growth. She grinned down at me, and I stood, grabbing her by the waist and bringing her to me. Our wings returned to the scars in our backs, and our clothes returned, our armour fading away.
"Well done, babycheeks. I didn't even hear you flying that time." I congradulated my daughter, propping her up on my hip as I weaved through the long grass.
Saskia squealed, clapping her hands together and laughing again. "Do you think Mummy would be proud of me, Daddy?" She asked, her twinkling blue eyes looking into mine hopefully.
My grin faltered for a moment before I found myself nodding. "Of course she would, baby. She'd be so very, very proud of you she'd probably bake us your favourite dinner." I told her, which earned me another mega-watt grin full of pearly white teeth.
We made our way to the cottage house, where long pillars of smoke curled out of the chimney. "Look Daddy! Uncle Niall's put the fire on!" Saskia exclaimed, wriggling in my arms.
I set her down and watched as her wings exploded from her back, sending her propelling forwards to the warmth of the cabin. I smiled after her, before my shoulders slumped and I sighed, rubbing at my eyes tiredly.
"She's advancing quickly." Came a voice to my right.
I didn't have to look to see Jack standing beside me. "Yeah, she is. Growing up too fast. She looks so much like Jay..." I muttered, continuing towards the small house we'd bought a year ago to hide from the public - a place to go where Saskia could grow up in peace when we weren't working without worry and the Warriors here wouldn't have to worry about being seen or hiding their true selves.
"Yeah." Jack rumbled, quieter than me as we reached the door of the cottage.
We went inside to find Saskia with cookie dough on her nose and Liam with a tray of uncooked cookies - a few which had grey and white feathers in them. Saskia sat at the island bench, swinging her legs and her wings curled at her back.
I frowned, raising an eyebrow in warning. "What did I say about wings inside, missy?" I asked.
Saskia jumped in surprise, obviously swallowing some cookie dough she'd sneaked, before tucking her wings away and smiling sheepishly. "Sorry Daddy." She ducked her head, and I smiled fondly, wiping the cookie dough off her nose.
"It's alright, baby, but don't forget again, alright?" I looked down at her, finding her nodding vigorously.
Satisfied, I walked to the lounge area, finding Louis and Zayn playing cards and Niall tending to the fire - just as Saskia had predicted. I sighed, collapsing into a chair and rubbing my face tiredly. We were in New Zealand at the moment, and we were heading back to England in two days - starting another tour in a month. It seemed unreal after the two years off we'd gotten, but we were launching right back into it. A new album, a new tour.
