idea: michael is a very insecure person who strongly dislikes his body. so he harms it. he hurts himself mentally and physically. his friend ashton always reminds michael how beautiful he is, that he shouldn't do this to himself - even though michael keeps on doing this to himself. however, on ashton's part it's all platonic.
platonic means that it's not in a romantic way and just friendly. though, this is a romance book or you can continue it on through a one sided love story with michael and ashton and he falls for someone else. it's your choice. :-)
