All the way to his granny's, Harry could not stop singing. He goes from Childish Gambino to Breaking Benjamin. He showed me all his favorite songs and what I should be listening to.
"I'm just saying, this is good music. It's way better than what you listen to," He remarks.
"Hey! I admit it's some pretty good stuff, but my music is good too!" I defend.
"Samantha, you listen to people who i never heard of," He scrolls through my iPhone. "Like this, Die Antwoord? What the hell is that?"
I snatch my phone away from him, blushing. "It's just one song and it's like a pump up song you know? Gets me moving." I start dancing around in the car.
Harry chuckles, "Okay, okay Sammie. You're gonna get us in a car crash."
I stop dancing and he's smiling. A crooked smile and it's pure happiness. It's only been two weeks that I was with Harry and I was falling so hard for him. He was always there when I needed him. Am I going too fast? Am I just rebounding on Harry from Shaun? I liked Harry first. Shaun just happened to be in the way. I really really like Harry. My feelings for him are growing more and more every day.
...
We soon pulled into the restaurant where we were meeting Harry's granny. It was a small cafe called Cafe Diem. It looked old, but not too old. It was like the building was a hipster. Trying to be oh so vintage. I laughed at the thought, which made Harry confused.
"Nothing, just a funny thought," He shrugged his shoulders as we entered the cafe. The inside was alot bigger than what it appeared to be. Where you order was to the left when you walk in. It was a large counter and had a display for baked goods. In the middle was an island sort of thing where they had all the sodas, coffees, and other condiments. To the right was all the tables. Some circle tables and booths against the windows.
"There she is," Harry grabs my hand and leads me to a booth towards the back. An older lady who had a chocolate-like brown hair with little silver hairs was seated in the booth.
"Harry, darling," Her thick british accent still present. She looked rather pale, almost sickly. Her skin was dewy and her green eyes darker than Harry's.
"Granny, this is Samantha. My girlfriend." He looked over at me with a bright smile and squeezed my hand. He didn't seem to notice his granny's sickly appearance like I did. Maybe she always looks like this.
"Hi," I say shyly. "Nice to meet you,"
"Oh she's beautiful!' The lady comes and hugs me tight, making me pull my hand away from Harry's. "Call me Sally," She pulled away with a bright smile, for such a sick looking woman. "Sit, sit please"
We sat down as she told us. "So Harry, how'd you meet such a beautiful young lady?"
Blushing, Harry responded, "Well uh, I met her at the university orientation. We finally started talking a month ago."
"Yeah, I was going through something and he was there to help me" I added.
"That's my Harry," Sally replied with a bright smile and raspy cough.
"Do you mind, I have to use the restroom," Harry excused himself and left me alone with his granny.
It was silent for a little bit before Sally broke the silence. "You know, Harry has never looked at someone like he looks at you."
I blushed at the remark. "Really?"
"Really," she coughed and sipped her water. "He looks genuinely happy as while. He's never been this happy. His dad is just, never in his life and his mother nags all the time."
"Oh, well that doesn't seem so great."
"I know, I just hope you'll help him get through the news i'm about to tell him."
Just as I was about to respond, Harry interrupts. "What news?"
"Honey, can you sit down please?" Harry does as she says.
"What is it, Granny?"
"Harry sweetie... I don't have much longer to live. I have cancer." As soon as the words leave her mouth, the sound of glass crashing is heard and Harry rushes out the door.
I'm so sorry guy for such the long wait for an update, i just been caught up on vacation. I'll try and update tomorrow. -Skylar
