I stood there, completely blinded by what I just experienced. Harry, kissing another girl? I know we weren't really official, but i assumed we were a thing. I was his, he was mine. He looked at me with a guilty expression. Why was that girl kissing him? Why did he just allow it? I need to stop overthinking, what if that was just a girl that thought that was her boyfriend? I don't know, but i needed to get out of there.
I started walking the opposite direction of Harry and the girl. I didn't know where I would go, I just needed to calm down before i start assuming the worst.
"Samantha please wait," Harry followed behind me. "I can explain everything," I stopped and turned around to face him.
"Explain," I crossed my arms, waiting for a response.
"That was Emily. She's my best friend and her boyfriend just broke up with her, so I hugged her and was comforting her. Out of nowhere, she kissed me. I pushed her off, telling her that you were my girlfriend." i stayed silent. "She won't be doing anything like that again. It was a moment of impulse for her and that was it. I'm sorry Samantha,"
He opened his arms for a hug and I couldn't help but run into his arms. Harry held me tight and kept whispering that he was sorry and never intended for it to happen.
On the ride back to his frat house, it was silent. I was still a little upset from the whole Emily thing. She's just Harry's best friend, but I don't know. I have mixed feelings for her at the moment. Of course that's probably because I'm jealous. I haven't even kissed him yet. He tried a couple times already, but they were bad times. Either a teacher or student came by, or a phone call, or Laura being a noisy roommate. I was relieved, but dissappointed at the same time. I like Harry, I really do. But the last time I rushed into something, it's didn't turn out very good.
"You okay there?" Harry turned to me, breaking the silent ride.
"Mhm,"
"You haven't spoke since what happened," His hand warm my thigh, giving me those goose bumps again.
"I'm fine, really."
"You sure baby?" The word was foreign to me and it caught me off guard at first. That's the first time he ever called me that.
I turn to him and give an ensuring smile. "Harry, I'm fine. See." I smile even bigger now, getting a laugh out of him.
He rubs my thigh and I give a genuine smile now. I'm fine. Little jittery, but fine all the same. Just a little mishappen and everything was okay.
When we arrived at his frat house, he pulled me aside before entering. "Samantha, I know you are still a little uncomfortable with what you saw. It was nothing. Absolutely nothing. She won't be doing it ever again." I nodded to agree and we went inside. "You can go ahead in my room. I'm just gonna get some water."
As I entered Harry's room, I locked the door and stripped down to my t-shirt and a pair of Harry's pajama pants I found in his drawer. I hope he doesn't mind.
My phone started buzzing and I was struggling to find it in my purse. I really need to clean this thing.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Sam! I've been trying to call you all night, are you okay??" It was my mother's paranoid self.
"Yes mom. I'm fine. I was at the movies with Harry."
"Harry? Who's Harry?" I had forgotten to tell her what happened with Shaun, it's just been a hetic week.
"Yeah, things didn't end well with me and Shaun."
"Really? Cause he was such a nice guy,"
"Oh you'd be surprised," I huffed and sat on the bed. "I don't really want to talk about it."
"Okay, but now are you with Harry?" She asked almost like she was angry. "Samantha I sent you to college so you can get the job of your drreams, not sluttin' it up with the whole campus."
I was more than shocked at my mother's choice of words. "Yes mom! I am with Harry. He has been helping me deal with this whole Shaun shit," I quitely yelled at her, knowing that there was others in the house sleeping.
"I don't know about this Samantha, I want you to focus on your schoolwork,"
There was a knock on the door, "Samantha, are you okay? Can you open the door please?" Harry talked through the door.
"Is that him?" My mother questioned with much attitude in her voice.
"I have to go mom," Before she could even begin to respond, I hung up on her.
I let Harry inand he stared down at my pants. "Oh I hope you don't mind, I wanted something comfortable to wear to bed,"
"It's fine, you look really good in them actually" He setted down his water and a sandwich. "Who were you talking to?"
"My mother," I huffed. "She was just giving me hell for being with you so soon after Shaun,"
"Fuck her," Harry mumbled over the bite of sanwich. "Not literally, but you know what I mean."
I chuckled. "Where's my sandwich?"
"Well I did make you one I swear, but it dissappeared in my mouth on the way upstairs." He swore that was what happened and a laughed not minding he ate it.
"I wasn't hungry anyways,"
"You can have a bite of mine if you want," He offered, but I declined.
"I'm going to get in bed now. Still a little bit tired."
"Sleepy head," He teased me and i climbed in bed with my back towards him.
"Remember, no touching please."
"Still?" He grunted and we shared a laugh. "Sweet dreams, Sammie."
I felt myself drifting asleep until I feel Harry's arms around me.
"Harry I told you no touching," But he was already sleeping. Not wanting to wake him, I curled more into his arms and rested my head on his chest.
Harry chuckled, revealing that he was not sleeping like I thought. "I knew it would work," His raspy voice whispered in my ear.
"Whatever, you're lucky i'm comfortable," He kissed my forehead and we drifted off to sleep.
