The Mermaid

~Chapter 3: Colors~

After a while Luna went back into the sea and I went home.

Sleep did not come to me that night however, and I was restless. I wanted answers.

Answers to my questions I have about her. I need to know more. But how?

I grew up thinking that mermaids were real. Once I got older everyone told me they were just made up.

So eventually I started to believe them. But they were wrong. All of them.

This questions everything I thought they knew. It also makes me question what I believe.

Does this mean vampires and werewolves are real?

The old me would say No of course not, don't be silly.

But know its a whole different answer.
Now this new me doesn't even know the answer. Yes? No? Maybe??

So I got on my laptop and started researching. Mermaids. Ocean animals. Anything I could think of.

But the searches showed nothing. I even looked at pictures. Nothing looked like Luna. Or described her. Than what was she?

I decided to try and sleep once again. And this time I fell asleep.

There was our house. My room. I went into the kitchen and seen my mom cooking breakfast.

My dad and brother are at the table.

"Good morning sweetie." My mother said setting my plate on the table.

I run up to her and give her a hug. I missed you so much mom.

She wrapped her arms around me and laughed.

"You just seen me last night silly. Remember when I told you goodnight?" She said and kissed my forehead.

"Now go sit and eat your breakfast before it gets cold." She shoos me away to the table.

Confused I follow my moms orders. What? I haven't seen her in a year. She died. Maybe it was a dream?

I dig in to my moms amazing pancakes, which are my favorite. She made them just for you.

Her special pancakes with chocolate chips in them and extra syrup. Yum.

Then I hear my alarm going off. And awake to start a new day.
