The Mermaid

~Chapter 2: The Others~

I smile back at her as she plays with her hair. I lift up her hand to mine and her hands are so small. They're softer than a cloud.

She made this soft sound. A cute sound actually. Kind of like a kittens meow.

I talk to her for what seems like hours. I look at my phone clock. 4:30am. Wow. It's been hours.

I left my hotel at about 8 o'clock. I smile at her. Who cares. I would rather talk to her than do anything else.

Then I seen something else move in the water. I looked and she looked too.

I glanced at her for a brief moment. She smiled at the movement.

I turn back towards the water and see another tail. This one is red however. Suddenly another girl comes ashore.

She is blond. With blue eyes. Not even close to as pretty as the other girl.

She smiles and waves at the other girl then looks back at me.

The mermaids sign language amongst theirselves and The blonde looks at me. She makes a noise.

I wonder what she means.. Um.. she makes another sound a soft one this time. I'm not sure what she means.

But I need to know their names. For something to call them.. instead of girl 1 and girl 2.. how about red? No.. Rose. Yes Rose.
"Ok I'm going to call you Rose." I point to her.

"And I'll call you.. hmm.. Nightfall? No.." I look off mind wondering on what to call her. Then I see it. The moon.

"Luna. I'll call you Luna." They both smile. Rose then waves and heads back into the water.

Now I'm alone with Luna and she is smiling brighter than the actual moon. It seems like its just us under these billion stars.
