IN LOVE WITH THE BROKEN MAN

WHAT'S HAPPENING!!!!

Gabe took the book and opened it he read through it and realized it was her diary when she was young, on scanning through it he discovered she was starved of her mother's love a lot but was still determined to learn the true meaning of love and sadly he has only made her believe it doesn't exist well things are going to be better now

The next day tricia woke up to a nice smell coming from the kitchen nanny must be around she then checked her watch and realized that it was past 10 she was so late for work , she will just call in sick that day, she made her to the kitchen after changing into a top and shorts without looking up she said

'good morning nanny has Gabe gone to work I woke up late and I couldn't even ---' she looked up and gasped

Gabe what are you doing here?, aren't you going to work?,where is nanny? Are you the one cooking?'

'which one do I answer first?, OK am the one cooking, nanny is not back from her trip and am taking the day off from work how are you feeling now?'

Am doing better thanks why are you not going to work?'

I just don't feel like OK? Sit down I have prepared breakfast'
He said and smiled genuinely for the 1st time in their marriage and she could do was stare in amazement he was so handsome with his tanned skin, greyish eyes and great physique, he was dressed in green T - shirt and black shorts he looked so relaxed and at home

Gabe's pov

He laughed inside him as he watched her assess him, her eyes were saying did he have something weird for breakfast?,is he OK?' he also assessed her and she was beautiful with her tousled hair from tossing around on the bed as a black American will say damn she's fine he then cleared his throat asked her to sit, before serving her pancake, and sitting to watch her eat

Are you not going to eat?'

'have already had breakfast don't worry eat up'

OK thanks' she said and began to eat.

'since you were ill, I had to postpone the meeting with my parents and we can choose a convenient time to go later'

'oh my God I am so sorry, i totally forgot i will call them after breakfast'

It's okay I already explained what happened to them and they told me to ensure you rest very well'

OK so when do we plan to go and visit them again'

'I think next weekend should be OK right?' he said with question in his eyes
Is he actually asking for my opinion or am I dreaming?

Tricia I need an answer like now?

She quickly recovered and said.
Ehm sure its fine by me'

Gabe then stood up: 'I will be in my study in case you need anything' and walked out

Tricia remained seated and continued to stare at the door through which he walked out
Is he ill? I don't think so then what is with this sudden change? It's kinda suspicious.
She took her phone and called Gabe's mom to apologize concerning the postponed visit but the woman just laughed over it saying 'he must be exhausting you daily for you to be so tired hon' and all Tricia could do was blush. Mr and Mrs Smith, and Gabe's younger sister where the only people in his household that liked Tricia for who she is.  But his elder sister kind of disliked her from the first time they met which actually was weird since she was sure they had never met before; hence when she goes to an event where she will be meeting her she always ensure she stays close to his mum who is one of a kind and at times she wished she was her mother.

Tricia went back to sleep as there was nothing to do and she was still feeling weak. Sometimes during her sleeping period she will sense someone coming to check on her a couple of times

She woke up later to the sound of 2 people arguing loudly, she then went downstairs and peeped into the living room to find her husband and best friend having a stare down contest with no one willing to back down

You took her to a club and abandoned her with a stranger, while you were busy flirting around'

Did you just insult me? If not for you we would not have had to go to a club in the first place, you always hurt her and make her feel miserable hence I took her out to make her happy

Happy? You say will she have been happy if she had been raped?,what kind of a friend are you?

The friend that is going to smack that expression of your face and since when do you care about her? I thought you were unhappy with being married to her?'

That doesn't mean I am not human she is my wife and my responsibility if something should happen to her it affects me'

Bull crap, you could have just rescued her but man you looked so angry to see another man touch her were you jealous?'

Tricia leaned closer to hear his reply

I am not gonna have a baseless argument with you just don't take her to such places again is all I request'

Well then Mr don't make her sad and downcasted again'

Gabe just shook his head and left the house slamming the door in an agitated manner

You can come out now he is gone'

Tricia went to meet her
How did you know I was there'

Evelyn rolled her eyes and said
I heard your footsteps and saw your clothes anyway how are you Tricia am so sorry for abandoning you at the club hope you were not hurt? Wait till I lay my hands in the j**k am so sorry I didn't come to check on you all this while my mama fell ill and I had to go see her are you OK'

Evelyn came down am fine just a bit weak and is your mom OK now? '

Of course she is, she was only money sick' Evelyn said angrily  Tricia knew how Evelyn and her mom never got along and it was always fun to watch them bicker

And on my return I come visiting and find your husband who seems to have a stick shoved up his a** insulting me and I just lost it, it was nice to see someone truly care for you'

Didn't you hear he was trying to protect his responsibility'

I don't think it's just that, you know I can read people it seems to me he is beginning to care for you and that's great'

Tricia just smiled but she felt happy and sad at the same time
What's happening? Does he really care as Evelyn says or he is merely taking care of me to avoid criticism or because he is guilty I don't want to let my hope fly high and be dissapointed, hopefully this change will be for the better
