IN LOVE WITH THE BROKEN MAN

THE VISIT

Gabe returned to the house when he was sure Evelyn must have left, he went back to his study to continue what he was doing before the argument he was going to London for 2 reasons to see his parent and seal a business deal hence he had to prepare adequately. He Soon finished and went to check on Tricia before personally going to bed

The next weekend Tricia and Gabe travelled to London in his private jet, throughout the trip gave kept on glancing at Tricia and he could see she was tensed up but he didn't know why as his family loved her
'please fasten your seat belts as we are about to land'the air hostess said and Tricia exhaled noisily let the show begin
On alighting from the jet there were 2 SUV waiting one for them the other for their bodyguards and luggage

They got to the mansion and Gabe assisted her out of the car, she thanked him and adjusted her blue sequin gown before moving to greet his family

'Mrs Jones it's good to see you again I have missed you'

Tricia have told you to stop calling me that am also your mother, I missed you dearie give me a hug'

Tricia it's so good to see you again' Gabe's younger sister screeched and hugged her

I have missed you to, what of Mr ----- I mean dad?' she said when Gabe's mom gave her a bad look

Oh he is still at work and I specifically instructed him to come back early today at times I think he is married to his work'

That's not true hon, I value and love you more than work' Gabe's father said as he appeared from Nowhere and hugged his wife from behind before pecking her forehead

'You look beautiful sweetheart'

No sweet talking will work on me today, I specifically told you to come early today did I not?'

Am so sorry honey something came up'

We will discuss this later come in Tricia'

Tricia my wonderful daughter how have you been?' Gabe's father asked and hugged her
She smiled before responding
Am great and you?

Great except I might be dead before midnight courtesy of my wife' he said whispering the last part

Tricia laughed and went in holding onto her father in law's arm. They kept on talking until they came into the living room where Gabe's elder sister was sitting and immediately she saw Tricia her features hardened and a faint smirk appeared before she quickly disguised it under a fake smile

Tricia darling how have you been? My you look haggard is marriage life not treating you well? Cause from my experience newly married women always glow, is your marriage stressing you out? My! Are you becoming fat?' Gina concluded with a fake gasp and Tricia could only look away embarrassed

Gina will you stop it, go and bring the wine I planned for dinner today don't mind her Tricia' Gabe's Mom said and smiled genuinely at her

Gabe stood at a corner watching and refused to go over to her I might agree to be her friend but there must be a limit to it hence he took out his phone and concentrated on it until his mom yelled at him to either drop the phone or she will do so inside the sauce and knowing his mom she could do it he put his phone away

Tricia could only sigh in relief when dinner was over as Gina looked for every opportunity to insult her. She soon retired to their room, she took her bath, changed to her nightgown and came back to the room and was shocked to find Gabe on the bed

What are you doing here?' she asked and he sat up on the bed giving her the you are kidding me right look before responding

We have to stay in the same room we can't make anyone know we are not having a blissful marriage'

So where do I sleep?

That's your choice either on the bed or on the couch it's your business but we stay in the same room'

Tricia studied him briefly before sighing he is back to this stone hearted person but I was really happy with the way he was before, am beginning to get tired of his mood swings it is well
She then went to sleep on the couch

The next Morning she woke and discovered her husband gone she sighed before deciding to call her friend and brief her concerning all that was happening to her; her husband's sudden withdrawal and her sister in law's disturbance and all Evelyn could do was to encourage her and ask her not to give up
She then took her bath and braced herself for the day's activities . On getting down stairs she noticed that she was wearing  the same kind of top with her husband except hers was pink and his was blue, their eyes connected and she saw realization dawn on him he tore his eyes from hers and she sighed before turning to go and change when her mother in law noticed her and pulled her to her husband's side for a couple's picture. Grachi came to steal her away and they went shopping which tricia was grateful for as further confrontation with gina was delayed

On the last night before their departure, tricia was washing the dishes as everyone was busy when Gina walked up to her and said
'what a wonderful role model of a wife, stop trying to butter up to this family because i know its fake'

'how are you so sure its fake? Everyone is busy that's why i decided to do the dishes'

'Liar but again why am i worried when i know Gabe will never fall in love with you his heart belongs to someone else so stop trying so hard?'

Tricia who was tired of being mocked, teased turned around and said

'look am tired tonight so please can you let me be?'

What! Did you just call me a talkative? A disturbance? How dare you?' Gina said angrily before going to grab her hand in a firm grip 
'watch me dear sister in law am going to make sure you get frustrated and leave on your own  i promise'

Let go of me' tricia said and removed her hand from Gina's own and Gina ended up falling

What's going on here?
Tricia heard her husband's voice and sighed before turning around to face him, but was shocked to see Gina in Gabe's arms giving a fake cry

'i was only trying to help her with the dishes but she said i should get lost and pushed me' his sister explained

What! That's not true she was holding my hand in a tight grip and i removed it but she lost her balance and fell

Gabe she us calling me a liar now'

Tricia i expected more from you how could you do this? Am disappointed cant you respect my family and be a model wife?'

I didnot --------'

Enough no more lies lets go sis' he said and walked away with his sister who looked back and gave a smirk

Tricia was boiling and kept her distance, she wanted to sleep in a guest room but decided against it since there were watching eyes everywhere, she went to their room took her bath and changed before lying on the couch and crying herself to sleep

The next day tricia and her husband returned home with silence throughout the entire flight on getting home they went to their separate rooms
