Chapter 1
My name is Yasmeen, I'm 23 and live in a small town in Washington, I know what you're thinking Washington wow what a boring state, well Washington is kinda awesome. We have amazing weather in all the seasons, lots of really good food, and the people here are great! Anyways I have been done with University for a year now, and now my life is all about WORK WORK and more WORK.
---------
"Yasmeen get up you're going to be LATE!!!!" my dad yelled. "UGHHH I'm upp!!!"
I called back "your sister is going to eat all the pancakes if you don't hurryyyy"
'Yes I will, the more the merrier" yelled my little sister Selina whose 14
My dad knew exactly what got me up and that was PANCAKES, I mean who doesn't like pancakes? It was a typical Monday got up prayed Fajir (Morning Prayer) put on my work attire which is black long pants, white blouse, and my favorite pair of flats. I ran down the stairs and saw my sister with a pile of pancakes and 2 left for me. My mom was still getting ready for work, since my dad can't work due to medical reasons, someone needs to earn the money and I try and help the best I can. We weren't the richest family nor the poorest we were right in the middle so middle class. My dad was a stay at home dad, it was 7 am and my mom is usually gone but instead she stayed and ate with us which was weird. My dad cleared his throat which got all of ours attention and said he had some exciting news, I hope it was about me and getting finally married to a prince, a guy I could call mine, my prince charming. "So Yasmeen how is work?" asked my dad "good..." I replied "Ever thought about a family or getting married someday, I mean it's up to you, not trying to push you into doing anything". "Will you just get to the point" my mom said sounding impatient. " Look so we may have found a suitable man for you whose from California his coming to Washington with his family tomorrow since they have business here, his family is going to stay in an hotel but he's going to be staying with us. Before you start rumbling, he is just staying here so both you can get to know each other a little before the engagement/wedding, if you to decide that's what you want." I guess my mom was running late since she said that VERY FAST. Uhhhh okay... was my reply. And my mom started heading to work while I was still in shock trying to digest the words my mother said and the yummy pancakes.
