I finished making some toast as mom stumbled out of her room, in her uniform. I scanned hee outfit for anything that could be out of place. With I sigh I finished my inspection and put toast on her plate ans mine, sitting her plate at the table. She smiled softly.
I took a moment to just look at my mother. Her hair was greyer than mine but still held the whitish blonde tone that mine did. Like my eyes, hers where a sparking purple that even after all shes been through, held such lightness and love.
"Im so sorry you have to pu up qith me Claire." She whispered putting a soft hand on my cheek smiling at me sadly.
If there was one feature about my mother that was my favorite, it would be her smile, even when it held more sadness then joy.
"Mom I love you. It may annoy me but it never matters that much," i whispered kissing her cheek ans leading her to sit down at the kitchen table to eat.
"What did I do to get a daughter likw you?" My mom asked looking down at her plate. I smiled down at the floor for a moment before looking up at her.
"Your just lucky it seems." I said kissing her cheek.
"I have to get to school now." I whispered.
"Wait dont go walking out alone!" She quickly stood up behind me making me turn quickly.
"Im not alone mom, sit down. Zack just texted me saying hes outside. He walks with me to school everyday remember?" I asked putting my hands on her shoulders to make her sit back down and eat.
"Oh yea... sorry im just a bit forgetful."she whisperes and i sighee nodding.
"More then just forgetful.... but just forget about it, just eat and go to work. Ill see you when you get home." I spoke, grabbing my backpack and quickly rushing to the door. As i shut it mom tried to speak but the slam of the door cut her off.
I know i should have felt sorry byt at the time i was donr anf quickly rushed through our unmowed frontyard to the red haired boy standing at our gate.
