The voice on the other end of the phone put the fear of God in her.

Eva was genuinely afraid to bring the phone back up to her ear. Although she had known for some time of Alpha's affiliation with the Russian Mafia, never had it occurred to her to probe too deeply into his affairs because there was no reason to care about anything more than the time they spent together.

Word on the street was that he was a dangerous psycho-sociopathic murderer. After speaking with Emir, that same monster walked away from her as if she was death itself.

"Hello." She said with a shaky voice.

"Get your things and meet me in my suite right now." His words were calm and yet they dripped a coldness she had never heard from anyone. Eva worried that she had gotten herself into something that was far over her head. She sat in the seat quietly for a moment without removing the phone from her ear.

"I said... get your things and come straight to my suite. Do not stop. Do not go anywhere else. Just do as you are told." His words were glacial.

Any man who could make a mafia boss shut down must himself be a monster.

Eva exited the elevator taking one careful step after another until she stopped right in front of the door. With the keycard, he'd placed in her hand before she left earlier in the day, she slid it across the locked pad, turned the doorknob, and cautiously proceeded inside the room.

The space looked the same. Energy from one room to the next remained as it had been before she left. Eva wasn't exactly sure what to expect.

The only thoughts which seemed to repeat themselves on a loop in her mind were the facts. Emir was a confirmed billionaire. There was no doubt in her mind that he had the resources to do whatever he might desire to do to her. Fighting or hiding from him most certainly would place her in danger.

Because she had accepted his offer, there was no such thing as 'Buyer's Remorse'. Should she decide to go back on her word, her destruction was guaranteed. Her only course of action was to learn from her mistake and take whatever he doled out to her.

Emir Burakgazi was now her own personal monster and she knew the only way she could potentially lose her life would be if she failed to learn his proclivities. It wasn't in her nature to do stupid things that would place her in jeopardy or harm's way.

Eva reminded herself that she was in a world unlike her own. The time for foolishness was over because wealthy people played by a different set of rules. She focused on the fact that shit was about to get real if she neglected to pull it together and step up her game.

Arriving in the living room, Eva sat there patiently until Emir walked into the room. His appearance was the same. Striking blue eyes gazed at her warmly as he smiled in her direction. His behavior was not like the communications they shared on the phone. He emphasized how at ease he was when he placed his hand on hers and with a touch light as a feather, kissed the palm of her hand.

"Eva, I know you once conducted yourself in a manner that was free from the restraints or machinations of others. Now, that you are my woman, there are some rules you simply must follow, without question." He gazed into her eyes and then kissed the back of her hand as sweetly as he had the inside of her hand.

Then he continued his gentle rebuke.

"If a man asks you out for any reason, you must first call for my approval. I know about your history and the men who have been your companions. One of the reasons I chose you is because you are uniquely intelligent. Your clientele list was impressive, to say the least. A banker, a jeweler, a mafia boss, a police commissioner, a politician, a realtor, and several other very high-ranking people in society. You aligned yourself with those who have the means to increase your value and support the actions you made in your business as well as your daily life."
