The view of the city was stunning.
Eva sat next to the window. Cars driving, people walking, and the Dallas skyline all created the perfect view.
Lounging in an oversized chair as she rested her legs on the matching teal and silver Jacquard patterned ottoman, she was unsuccessful at refocusing her thoughts on anything except the man who was lying haphazardly across the bed. For hours, the only evidence of life consisted of him repositioning himself while muttering an occasional word or two. She recognized the language sounded like that which Alpha had spoken to him on the day before his disappearance.
Recalling that was the last day she spent time with Alpha, Eva's thoughts were cornered. She had to acknowledge that she had no doubt crossed a line in many ways. Emir paid for exclusivity. The work to assist her with clearing up all of her business responsibilities was done to prevent anything from interfering with the time he wished to spend with her. Even something as simple as a meeting with another friend should have at the very least been addressed between her employer and herself.
She wasn't an Uncultured Pearl. Even though she no longer had her business, Eva understood exactly how the game was played. Every level in her business was of her design based on what she learned about escorts, party lines, social media hookups, streetwalkers, strippers, and many other professions where sex could easily be added to the menu for the right price.
Powerful men do not enjoy sharing their toys. They love to place their trophies on display for everyone to see, but there is a 'look but don't touch' philosophy behind their actions. Something changed in Emir when he learned that she was with Alpha and there was nothing she could do to convince herself that she wasn't in some minor way responsible for the chaos that ensued.
Finally, her eyes drifted closer and closer together as she gave in to sweet oblivion.
In the void, a magnetic essence filled her senses.
Once again, he brushed his lips against the skin on her neck. His hands slid under the orange sorbet satin negligee where they found something worth seeking. Lightly massaging her nipples with his thumbs, Emir's hands slid down her ribs, to her abs, and ducked inside the delicate fabric covering the treasure hidden between her thighs.
Eva bristled against the betrayal that now inundated her life. She hated nothing more than what was staring her in the face. Emir had it. Whatever it was, it evoked her to give in to the pleasure associated with him. No other man understood she needed more than just sex or even love to surrender her will.
Pretending to be asleep was destined to fail her the moment his skin made contact with hers.
The wanton abandonment of her concerns aided Eva's body as she began to shiver in anticipation of receiving the best of his worst.
Emir removed his hand. She turned and sat up in the chair wondering if she had been dreaming the whole time. After she had convinced herself that she was dreaming, he appeared with the blanket from the bed. No longer totally wrecked, he seemed completely sober.
He helped her down to the blanket which had been spread out on the floor. With little effort, Emir had managed to remove his clothes as well as hers in record time.
"I hope you will accept my apology for leaving you here alone, but I chose to stay away for a reason. I was convinced I would not have been able to control my anger. My need for you is so great, I refuse to share you with anyone." He explained as he snuggled next to her.
Eva was at a loss for words so she opted to nod her head instead. Even she hated to admit it, she was glad he told her his reason for leaving.
They were side by side in the dark.
