New beginning

Brooklyn's POV

It's been a week since the coffee shop incident. Ace has been trying to contact me but I've been ignoring him. I'm embarrassed about the whole situation and I'm just not ready to get back into the dating life.

It's a Friday night and I'm just getting off work. Of course I closed for Maryann so she could get home and relax so I missed the bus. I walked out of the building to catch a cab and a car pulled up.

"Hey Brooklyn can I give you a ride?"
It was Ace.
"Hi Ace. No I'm fine. Really.. but thank you."
"Oh come on. I want to make sure you get there safely plus I wanted to talk to you about something."
"About what?"
"Come on I'll tell you on the way." He said smiling.

I agreed and jumped in the passenger seat. I sighed from the exhaustion as I relaxed a bit.
  "So what did you wanna talk about?"
  "Well I've been thinking.. Im looking for some help around my place and I can't find anyone I would like in my home. But then I thought of you.. I like you. Your a nice person. What do you say about working for me?"
  "I barley know you.. I don't know. Plus what would I be doing?" I said curiously. It sounded.. weird to me that he wanted to offer me a job around his home...
  "Just some cooking and cleaning. Nothing major. Plus I'll pay you triple what your making at the restaurant including your tips. And I'll throw in a bonus if you start tomorrow. What do you say?"

  It all sounded weird but great at the same time. Why was he offering this to me... but I could use the money. I REALLY needed to get out of that damn hotel I was living at.

  "I don't know can I have some time to think about it?" I asked wearily
"Sure.. but I need to know soon." He said smiling.

We pulled up to my hotel and I thanked him for the ride.
"Thanks Ace.. I'll let you know soon about my decision."
"Ok just don't take too long." He chuckled.

I got in, took my shower, and laid on my thin and uncomfortable bed... ugh just laying on this thing made me want to say yes to Ace. But at the same time was it a good idea? I mean I just met this guy and I was ready to cut all ties just earlier today from the embarrassment of last week... I contemplated my answer.. then texted him.

"Fine I'll take the job. But we need to talk about scheduling." I sent the text
"Wow so quick to come up with your answer. I'm glad you decided on helping me out." He responded.
"If the pay is as good as you say then I have no reason to say no. Plus I NEED to get out of this hotel. I'm starting to get a bad back from this bed lol." I chuckled to myself after sending it.
"Well in that case I want to pay for you to stay somewhere nicer until you find a descant place to live. And don't say no I can't have your back giving out on me before you even start. I'll just add it on top of your bonus." He sent.
"Oh I couldn't ask you to do that."
"Your not asking. I'm telling. It's going to be apart of employment. I'll explain later. Can you come to my office tomorrow around noon?"
"Yes that's fine. I'll see you tomorrow. Thank you Mr.Kellan." I said professionally and chuckled.
"Good night Miss. Jade"

I was smiling as I put my phone down to get some wrest. I'm finally going to get TF out of this place. As much as I appreciate Tony for the decent price I just could t stand it.

*next morning*

I woke up bright and early. I was tired from the long shift from last night at the restaurant yes, but I was so excited about my new better paying job that I couldn't sleep in.

I had about three hours to get ready then get in a cab towards the Kellan enterprises building. For my hair I did a high bun with my bangs swept to the side. Then for makeup I did a simple but beautiful eye with a red lip.

I wanted to dress professionally as well because this to me was like an interview. Although it was us going over hours, pay and expectations because I already had the job.

I decided on a long sleeve black turtleneck shirt, my plaid pencil skirt and toped it off with my black heels.

I made my way down to the lobby and through the front doors. Just as I was ready to call out for a cab a man that I recognized called for me.
"Miss.Jade." It was Ace's driver standing next to the same black SUV he always drives around.
"Oh hi.."
"Mr.Kellan sent me to get you miss."
"Oh that was nice of him...."
"You can call me jace ma'am" he said smiling

I got in the car and we set off towards my new beginning. I'm excited about this new life with these new opportunities ahead of me...
