Strange things

Brooklyn's POV

"I'm so sorry doll. I don't know what came over me.." Ace said.
"You can't start acting like that.. like... him.... you need to have some trust in me." Ace knew I was referring to my ex Carter.
"I know doll. I just have trust issues and I need to realize your not her."
"Her??" I questioned.
"Yes. I don't want to get into details right now. But I will some day."
"Ok. I understand." My mind was racing thinking he had secrets. But I knew he'd eventually tell me.
"Come on, let's go to our room."

Ace scooped me up bridal style and carried me to our bed. He held me the whole night and I could hear him apologize in my ear as I fell asleep.

   The next day I woke up and Ace was already gone to work. He had meetings so he couldn't work from home today.

Usually that would make me sad but I had school so I wasn't going to be here anyways. Today's class started later than usual anyways so I'd be home around the time he was going to be.

I got up and showered then dried and styled my hair. I left it down and curled it. For my outfit I did something less than yesterday. I wasn't dressing down to make Ace happy I was doing it because I felt it did bring unwanted attention toward me. I had the gut feeling that Jake thought I was approachable maybe because of the way I dressed.

    I wore a simple v neck dark gray short sleeve shirt with a pair of skinny jeans that I rolled up on the bottom and my white chucks.

   Since I was in school now Ace had hired a new maid to do the cooking and cleaning because I didn't have the time or energy.

   "Hi Hailey." I said walking into the kitchen.
   "Hello miss Jade" she was always short with me but I couldn't figure out why.
   "Well I'm off the school I'll see you later." I grabbed an apple and water and ran out the door.

   I got to school and made my way to class. When I was almost there I felt a pair of arms wrap around my shoulders.

   "Not so fast." I knew it was Jake from the voice.
"Jake please don't put your arms around me. I don't like being touched." I said lightly pushing him away.
"I'm sorry I just got excited to see you is all. I wanted to invite you to a party that my friend is throwing" he handed me a flyer.
"I'll think about it. Maybe I can get my boyfriend to come with."
"Boyfriend? I mean yea cool. I'll see you around Brooklyn." He walked away acting strange.

   Class was great again and it seemed to fly by. Before I knew it, it was time to go home. I went to my car and drove home.

   I contemplated calling Ace but I knew he was busy so I'd just see him when I got back. I really hoped he was there because I wanted some kisses.
