Days are long when you're doing nothing. A single minute can turn into hours. For Chaeyoung she had missed at least thirteen hours of her life, even though it was never her intention nor fault. The young girl fluttered her eyes open and stared at the ceiling.
She hadn't felt like a day past or that she had felt sick before. She could smell a sweet fragrance from outside her room. She gently felt her forehead and slowly sat up. Her fever had died down a lot, it was a miracle. Chaeyoung looked at her night stand and furrowed her eyebrows.
A rag hung over a bowl of water. She couldn't remember what had happened the day before, well partly. Something about a package and Mina. Chaeyoung widened her eyes.
'Mina!' She thought and threw off the covers then running out into the kitchen. Mina sat at the table tapping away on her laptop. Even though she excused herself from her workplace to take care of Chaeyoung, she still needed to manage the stats from home.
Chaeyoung stood quietly in her place. She studied the older woman. She looked at how Mina's hair fell down and in front of her face when she looked down. She could see the seriousness on the older woman's face. Even while busy taking care of work matters, she looked so beautiful.
"Mina?" Chaeyoung said softly. Mina looked up from her laptop and smiled. "You're up. Feeling better?" Mina asked. Chaeyoung rubbed the back of her neck and sat down next to Mina. "Yeah. Thank you." She said. Mina lifted her hand and gently felt Chaeyoung's forehead.
"Your fever went down a great deal. Would you like me to make you some food?" Mina asked and stood up. The young girl bit her lip. She hadn't been taken care of like this since she left South Korea.
"If it's no trouble." She said shyly. "Not at all." Mina smiled warmly at Chaeyoung and began taking out some food from the fridge. Chaeyoung played shyly with her fingers.
'How long has she been here?' Chaeyoung thought. She had never been with one of her clients for any longer than a night. She looked up at the clock, fifteen past twelve. By now she would've grabbed her things and left her client.
"Been here long?" Chaeyoung asked. Mina brought the girl her lunch. "I asked my secretary to bring me some clothes and I stayed the night. Slept on the couch." Mina said and sat down.
'Fuck, she slept on the couch. I should've offered her my bed. But if she slept in my bed then I'd...' Chaeyoung blushed madly and stuffed her mouth with her food. "Your home is cozy. Why didn't you tell me where you really lived before?" Mina asked. Chaeyoung set down her food.
"It's a bit shocking isn't it? To know a host who lives in a place like this? All that money and you're probably wondering why I live here." Chaeyoung said embarrassed. Mina wandered her eyes around Chaeyoung's humble abode. It was a question she wanted to ask but it would be rude to assume the reason.
"I'm sure you have your reasons. Like I said, it's cozy." Mina said and sat back. "How about you? Do you live in a pent house? A nice abode with at least a thousand dollar painting hanging in the hall? Or a nice queen sized bed with duvet's made of silk? Hmm?" Chaeyoung took a sip of her water and stared the older woman down.
Mina bit her lip. The young girl was about right. She never thought how rich she was compared to others. Her walk in closet filled with brands such as Gucci and Chanel. From what she's seen she couldn't be more different from Chaeyoung.
"I live to suit my lifestyle. But I won't brag of such things." Mina declared and looked at the young girl. Chaeyoung sat back in her seat. "I think I'm alright now. Maybe you should head to your job. You work right?" Chaeyoung asked. Mina sighed.
"I'd rather not go back at this time. I got a call earlier from my secretary. It really isn't a good time. Would you like me to leave?" Mina asked Chaeyoung. The young girl bit her lip. She wasn't trying to sound rude or anything, but she hadn't planned to wake up and have to keep Mina entertained.
"Oh. No. No you can stay. It's just boring here." Chaeyoung said and rubbed the back of her neck. "Then we should do something. Do you like video games?" Mina asked. Chaeyoung furrowed her eyebrows. 'Video games?' She thought.
----------------------------------
"Yes!" Mina cried out in joy as she had once again defeated the dark cloaked wizard in her video game. Chaeyoung stared mouth wide open at Mina. She had never seen Mina so focused and determined over such a thing. Mina popped her knuckles and started a new game.
"You're like...like really good at this. Have you been here before?" Chaeyoung asked. "When I need to relax from work I come here. But as you can see there's not much relaxing." Mina said and giggled.
Chaeyoung looked at the older woman. She seemed genuinely happy and carefree. Chaeyoung had never seen her like this. But then again she hadn't spent actual time with her. It wasn't long before she was cheering along with Mina.
"Kachi mono!" Chaeyoung pointed at the screen and clapped cheerfully as Mina bowed and waved her hand playfully. The girls laughed with one another. They spent the afternoon playing hours of video games and occasionally taking a breather while looking and reading the manga books in another room.
Chaeyoung laughed as Mina acted out in scene a part from a manga book. She did so effortlessly. She used her hair and made a mustache, speaking lowly to portray a man she had Chaeyoung in a laughing fit.
The young girl couldn't help but laugh. She hadn't had this much fun since she left South Korea. And to think she'd be doing this with one of her clients.
Mina smiled lovingly at Chaeyoung who clasped her stomach in laughter. She had found herself feeling that wonderful feeling in her stomach again. She loved seeing Chaeyoung like this, genuinely happy. She was happy to know that she was the reason why.
