I hauled my 5 bags along to a carriage at the back on the left, having to levitate some along with me, Bobby taught me that. I piled them on the shelf closest to the back of the train next to the window and took a seat. I just sat for ages, strumming on my guitar until the train gave a jolt and began moving. I laid my guitar across the seat next to me so I could take in the view. However, I was suddenly interrupted by a loud knock on the door. I turned towards the knock and came face to face with a small red haired girl. She pushed open the door and asked if she could sit with me, apparently the rest of the seats were taken, so of course I accepted. She brought in her bags and lifted them onto the shelf opposite me, I offered to help but she refused.
"My names Charlie, by the way." She told me after having put away her cases away.
"Dean."
"Nice to meet you, Dean."
"Nice to meet you too, Charlie." We sat awkwardly for a while, trying to avoid each other's gaze, until finally Charlie spoke up.
"So, you play?" She said, motioning to the guitar beside me.
"I dabble, but taking care of Sammy's my main priority. Maybe I'll practice more now I'm on my own." I gave a sad smile, missing my brother already. "Who's Sammy?" She asked, settling into her seat.
"My kid brother, I came here with him. Flu powder." She furrowed her brow.
"What about your parents?"
"My mom's dead, and my dad's a dick."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be." I smiled at her when suddenly a soft knock sounded at the door. We both turned to see a chestnut haired boy with dazzling blue eyes. Charlie motioned for him to come in and said something, but I couldn't tell what, I was too busy staring at that boy; if angels existed, I imagine this is what they'd look like.
"Hello?" He was standing over me now.
"W-What?" He smirked,
"I said hey, I'm Castiel Novak." He held his hand out and I took it;
"Dean Winchester."I don't know how they did it, but only an hour in and I was already playing them Heat of The Moment on my guitar. Charlie leaned backwards in her seat, a smirk on her face as she gazed out the window. Castiel, on the other hand, was leaning in and looking intently at me, his face completely serious. When I finished they gave me a round of applause and I couldn't help but blush. The candy lady approached and gave us a basket full of treats, curtesy of one 'Gabriel Novak'.
"A relative of yours?" I ask Castiel.
"My brother, he's a third year Slytherin." I opened my mouth to say something, but decided against it,
"What?" Shit.
"Nothing, I- Aren't all Slytherins supposed to be evil?" He let out a breath, clearly angry. I shouldn't have said anything.
"No. Well... yes -but they're not. It just so happens that a lot of famous Slytherins are evil,"
"Like Voldemort?" Castiel gasped and Charlie's eyes widened as she snapped her head toward me.
"What?"
"Y-You said his name." Charlie said, as if it were a crime.
"Well... yes. I tend to do that when I'm talking about people, otherwise you wouldn't know who I was talking about."
"B-But, you don't say you-know-who's name." Castiel stuttered.
"It's just a name, by refusing to say his name because we're afraid, we give him power." I replied.
"I suppose that kind of makes sense... Okay, from now on we call him by his real name, agreed?" Charlie asked, with a slight smirk on her face.
"Agreed."We sat in silence for a couple of minutes, but without some kind in distraction I was left to my own thoughts, which is never a good thing, so I broke the silence.
"So, uh..... Who likes Queen?" I asked, the two looked at each other with confused looks,
"She's cool I guess..." Castiel said
" I heard that the entire royal family are a part of a cannibal cult." Charlie followed.
"I meant the band," I said, exasperated; "please tell me you've heard of the band." They shook their heads so I got out my guitar and started playing Killer Queen. When I finished they stared at me for a few seconds and then asked me to play more, and that's how we sat for most of the train ride, me playing Queen songs on my guitar and them sitting across from me, listening intently to every word whilst occasionally nibbling on one of the pieces of candy sent by Gabriel.
