With 15:00 left in the first period Kevin Lough scored to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 10:00 left in the first period Jacob Hayhurst scored to tie the game 1-1. With 5:00 left in the first period Mike Panowyk scored to make it 2-1 Colgate heading to the second period. Evin and Marshall match zeros in the second period 2-1 Colgate heading to the third period. With 14:00 left in the third period Will Reilly scored to tie the game 2-2. With 7:00 left in the third Jacob Hayhurst scored his second goal of the game to make it 3-2 RPI. Linden Marshall holds the 3-2 lead to defeat the defending champion Colgate to even the series 1-1.
