Weeks had past since the last time I communicated with Jason, and he hasn't even said a single word or anything.

It's not like he's been ignoring me, but I just know that he recently hasn't had the chance to speak to me.

Then later, I saw his name appear in my notifications and somehow that made me anxious.

I was going to say something, but I just couldn't send him a reply.
The notification was just a post of him saying hi to his followers because he obviously knows he hasn't been online for ages.

But truthfully, getting anxious from seeing someone's name appear in your notifications happens sometimes because that's just normal. Even when you're in a relationship with someone, or maybe it's just that they don't know you're into them and you're waiting for a certain time to come so that you can tell them how much you love them by admitting your feelings to them.

The one secret I've been keeping from Jason is that he doesn't know how much I'm really into him, although my dad's just protective in a tough way. It's not like he doesn't want me to be in a relationship with him, but he just doesn't understand.

Jason's the one who seems to want attention all the time just by spamming me with likes on my posts which sometimes happens when I'm busy, but I don't mind him doing that. Even if my dad wouldn't want him doing anything he thinks is wrong, when he doesn't get that it's actually good and not bad.

Today was the end of my second year in high school. It was 7:00am and I woke up to smelling breakfast being cooked by my dad. I walked my way down the stairs and saw that the table was set with bacon, pancakes and toasted bread. I talked to him about what I found out from the last time I texted Jason.

"Hey, dad. Something's gonna happen soon in August before the day of my birthday." I said.

"Oh yeah, what's that? Is it something you're up to?" He asked.

"I guess I could say that, but what I'm really saying is that I'm asking you if you would give me permission to go to a concert." I shrugged.
"Who's performing?"

"Whoever this is— It's a band. An alternative band. It's called Panic at the disco." I explained.

"I will only allow you to go if I appove them or not, only by listening to their lyrics." He said.

I scoffed and stuttered a little fearfully as I looked at him. "B-but dad, y-you-you don't realize the fact that you're n-not gonna like it if... You hear them. Their music isn't the kind you would wanna hear. A-all you really care about in music is just-- the lyrics."

He looked back at me intensely with seriousness in his eyes like he was forcing me to do something tough. "If this band is really something that I don't like, then, I can't allow you to go. But... If I truthfully say that I think it's a good band, then I will let you go to their concert. I can't just give you all the freedom you have so that you can see them perform."

I slowly breathed deeply and shakily, placing one of my hands onto my mouth. "He's not gonna be happy if I figure out that he actually doesn't like them." I thought.

"Is there something wrong?" My dad asked, as he finally stopped being dramatic weirdly and unexpectedly just started to be nice.

I stuttered again. "No, I-I'm fine. Just let me eat and get ready for school." I answered.
