Song: I'm in Love- Lady Jane and Jungkook

The next morning, I woke up confused. I was staring at a ceiling that was definitely not my bedroom, covered by a blanket unfamiliar to me, and I wasn't even in a bed, I was on a couch. When I glanced to my side, I found Landon asleep on the couch adjacent to me, and that was when everything from the night before came flooding back. My cheeks burned as I thought about the moments before I fell asleep. If I thought hard enough, I could still feel the press of Landon's lips against mine. I didn't remember when I fell asleep, but I definitely remembered sitting on Landon's lap as the last place I had been before sleeping. I was half disappointed he didn't lay with me the whole night, but also touched by how he respected my need to take things slow. I hated to play the comparison game, but I couldn't help but think how that never would've flown with Aleck.

I rolled over and watched Landon, seeing the soft rise and fall of his chest. I studied him, noticing how his long lashes touched his cheek when his eyes were closed, how his mouth slightly opened as he rested peacefully. His face was closest to me, so I reached out and just barely brushed my fingertips against his cheek. His skin was soft under my fingers. Landon twitched slightly, and then his eyes fluttered open. He watched me for a few minutes before gently resting his hand over mine. "Morning, pretty girl."

I smiled softly, turning my hand over to intertwine my fingers with his. "What do you think about a weekend trip?"

"I wouldn't be opposed. Mom's out of town for the weekend. Where are we going?"

"Wisconsin," I said. "I want to see my dad. And I want you with me."

His smile seemed to beam a little brighter. "Then let's go. I'll go pack a bag."

Landon stood and stretched, the hem of his shirt rising slightly to show his v-line. It was a sight I had seen several times, but it never got old. Some part of me itched to see more, but I pushed it down for now. While he packed, I cleaned up the couch and folded the blankets, placing them on the arm of the couch. By the time he came back out, I realized I had nothing with me for a trip.

"Do you think we could stop by my house? She wouldn't let me take my stuff when I left."

"Of course," He slung his duffle bag over his shoulder, and then shot me a weary look. "Is your mom going to be there though?"

"She has a campaign this weekend. Even if she was, I wouldn't care," I rolled my eyes. "I broke a window, so it's not going to be hard to get in."

"Should I ask what happened?"

"Probably not."

Landon didn't say another word as we walked out to the truck and drove to my house. Mom's car was vacant from the driveway, and I was actually shocked to see the window had already been fixed. Then again, she could always put her money where her mouth was, and it wouldn't have left a good taste in the community's house to ride by her perfect house and see a broken window.

"Window doesn't look broken anymore," Landon commented. "How are you getting in?"

"This is a great life lesson for you-- always have a backup plan." I hopped out of the truck and looked over my shoulder to see Landon still sitting in the truck. "You coming?"

He eyed me suspiciously. "What exactly is the back up plan?"

"Relax. We're just going to climb through my bedroom window. I always keep it unlocked for situations like these."

"Sounds like you've done this a time or two."

"It comes with the lifestyle. I mastered the art of sneaking out."
