Song: Can't Help Falling in Love- Haley Reinhart

"Want to do something spontaneous today?"

Landon eyed me warily. "The last time you asked me a question like that, we ended up in a jail cell."

"I'll be more careful this time."

He sighed. "What do you have in mind?"

"Oh, nothing too crazy," I tapped my chin as if in deep thought, but I had already had this idea planned up since stepping into dad's garage early the next morning. "Just a little ride out to the overlook."

"Oh," Landon's shoulders visibly relaxed. "That's nothing. You made it sound like we could possibly die today."

After the awkward encounter the night before, dad hadn't said anything else about what he walked in on, which had probably also been buffered by Landon's ability to fix his truck. Dad left for a long hour drive after not being able to drink his truck for a while, so Landon and I had cuddled up on the couch and watched a movie until he came back. We then went our separate ways for bed, but I would've been lying if I had said I didn't want to stay wrapped up in his arms the rest of the night. Baby steps, though. I had been the one who insisted on giving things time after ending things with Aleck not too long before that. Although I didn't feel like I owed Aleck anything, it still felt wrong to immediately jump into something with Landon, no matter how much I wanted to. I also just needed some time to recover from all the hurt that had piled up over the last few weeks.

I cheekily smiled and grabbed a set of keys before leading Landon out to the garage. I grabbed two helmets off a shelf and handed one to Landon before putting my own on, and then slung one leg over the motorcycle. As the key turned in the ignition, the motor purred to life, and I revved the handle for good measure. I glanced to the side to find Landon still standing there, jaw dropped.

"What?"

"You didn't mention it was a motorcycle we'd ride on!"

"Oh, lighten up!" I giggled, grabbing his arm and pulling him closer. "This is my baby. I wouldn't let even a speck of dust hurt her."

"I sure hope not," He grumbled as he climbed on behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Actually, let me say a quick prayer before we go."

I rolled my eyes and smiled before backing out onto the blacktop. I lifted the kickstand and speed out onto the main road, the wind whipping my hair as I smiled wider. Landon's arms wrapped even tighter around me, and it made me even more glad that I chose to take the motorcycle out. I didn't think I could ever grow tired of the feeling of his arms around me. Eventually, I felt the rigidness in Landon's arms relax, and although he still held me just as tight, when I glanced over my shoulder, I could see the hint of a smile through his visor. We rode for about twenty minutes before we reached the outlook. I pulled the key out of the ignition and climbed off the bike, setting my helmet on the seat. Landon stumbled off of the bike. "This is the closest to a heart attack I've ever been. Let's not do that again."

I chuckled. "Oh, come on. You have to admit it was a little fun."

He gave me a side eye. "We seriously need to talk about your life choices."

I shook my head before locking my hand with his and walking to the edge of the overlook. I released a breath of relief at the sight of the small Wisconsin town, peace washing over me as the cool evening breeze ruffled through my hair.

"This is an incredible view," Landon breathed out. I gripped his hand tighter and grinned.

"This isn't anything. Wait til you see the view from the top of the mountain."
