(I forgot the rest of the characters' last names so I'll look that up and fix it later lol sorry.)

The sirens wail, and the ambulance rolls into the school parking lot. They put Adrien onto a stretcher and place him inside the ambulance. I run past a few doctors to get beside him in the truck, but they stop me at the doors. "You can't go in there. You'll just be in the way. It's better for him if you stay out of there."

"Well I think you're wrong." I push past him and take a seat in the back of the ambulance beside Adrien. The doctor runs in and tries to grab me and push me out. Adrien grabs the man's wrist.

"Let her stay." The doctor looks at him as if to say no. "Please." He lets me go and I run to grab Adrien's hand.

"It's okay. It's gonna be okay."

---

We get to the hospital, and as soon as we pull in front of the building, the doctors pull his stretcher out, and carry him inside the building. We go up the elevator, and into a room with a bed, a television, a table, and an extra chair. We set him on the bed and roll him into an operation room. He tries to act tough for me, but I know he's terrified. We get to the room, and once again, they stop me at the doors. I try to push through, but they're not budging. There's no way they're gonna let me in.

"Can I just see him before you do it?" I plead.

The surgeon sighs and nods, and the two men step out of the way. I walk to his bed and kiss his forehead. "You're gonna be fine, okay?"

"Stop saying that. I'm not fine. That's what you keep telling me. 'It's fine.' Well it's not fine, Gabi! I'm not fine!" He cries. I just stare at him. I know he's right, but I can't exactly say that. "You know I'm right. Just say it." Tears roll down my face, and I shake my head.

"No. I won't say it."

"Say it Gabi, just say it!" He yells. A few doctors are staring at us now.

"Okay! The truth is I don't know if you are gonna be fine! I don't know anything! And that scares me, Adrien! Okay? So when I tell you things are gonna be fine, I'm not really telling you. I'm telling me! Because I need to convince myself that nothing bad is going to happen to you, because I love you!" I scream. Oh my God. That's the first time I've said that. I love you. I replay the words over and over again in the matter of a second. I love you. He looks a little shocked. "Uh-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I-"

"I love you too." I'm shocked that he actually said it, but I put my hands on his cheeks and kiss him anyways. I nod at him and hug him one more time, before I walk out of the room and sit on the bench that's right outside the door. I fall asleep, and when I wake up, I see a young, male doctor standing over me. I sit up, startled. But his face is so gentle-calming even. So I sink down into a less tense position.

"Hi, I'm Matt." He reaches his hand out, and I shake it. "I'm an intern here, and I'm about to start going to Crystal Valley High, and I've already heard a lot about you guys." What does he mean by that? "You're-kinda famous here." He chuckles.

"I'm sure we are." I laugh.

"Well, I just wanted to let you know that the doctors are saying there's a 90% chance that he will walk again. I hope that puts your mind at ease a little."

"Well not really. That's what they said last time . . ." He gives me a look of sympathy, then shakes my hand again.

"It was nice to finally meet you, Gabi."

"You too, Matt." He'd be perfect for Tessa. He is definitely her type. I think to myself. Then the surgeon comes out and tells me that he's still under anesthesia, but I can go in and see him anyways. I walk in and sit beside him on the bed. I eventually get tired of waiting, and fall asleep beside him. After what I presume has been a couple hours,  the doctor wakes me up. Adrien's still asleep, but I shake his shoulder to wake him up.

"Glad to see you're awake. The operation went according to plan. Nothing went wrong, there was nothing out of the ordinary." The doctor explains. "We're not going to put you back in the wheelchair. The surgery went so well that we think you can stay on crutches." The look on Adrien's face makes me so happy. He looks like the world has just been lifted off his shoulders, and I'm so happy for him. We wait about 10 minutes before we get up, because he's still loopy from the anesthesia. I hand him the crutches, and he starts walking, like nothing ever happened. He stops, and we look at each other. All of a sudden we both burst out laughing. Not that it's funny, but we're both just so in shock that the procedure actually went so well. For once something went right for us. I hug him, and we head out to the lobby.

"So. Who's picking us up?" Adrien asks.

"Well. I think it's time for me to be Cupid."

"What?"

"You'll see." I pick up my phone, and type in Tessa's number. It rings three times before she answers.

"Hello."

"Hey Tessa."

"How'd the surgery go?"

"It went great actually, but can you pick us up from the hospital? There's someone I want you to meet . . ."

So that's the first chapter! It seems like it took me forever to write it, but I'm glad I did! Enjoy!
