I open the piece of paper in my hand. It's a letter with a picture attached. I look at the picture first. They're texts between Callie and Adrien.
Callie: I know you probably won't believe me, but I have to tell you something about Gabi. She's not who she says she is. She doesn't love you and she's been playing you this whole time because she wants revenge on you for how you treated her. She's making you think she loves you and then she's going to tell all of your secrets and break your heart. I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you, but it's true. Gabi Walters does not love you, Adrien.
Adrien: I don't believe you. Gabi would never do that to me. She forgave me a long time ago. You don't have any proof.
Callie: Sadly, I do.
Then she send a screenshot of texts between Callie and I.
Me: I'm trying so hard to keep this up. He keeps trying to take me on dates and I know I have to do it for this plan to work, but I hate being around him. I don't even know how I've made it this far. And honestly, I think he deserved to get in that car wreck. He's a bad person, and he will always be a bad person. I hate him.
Callie: But I thought you changed your mind! I thought you actually fell in love with him.
Me: Well. You thought wrong.
I am in shock right now. I never sent that. Then I look at the date. October 25th. Callie went to the movies with me that day and asked to borrow my phone. That's when she must've sent this. I am angry beyond belief. I go to sleep thinking about how tomorrow, I'm going to expose Callie and win Adrien back. Whatever it takes.
---
I wake up the next day and put on my white jeans and a red tank top with a jean jacket and my Vans. I get my bag and get in the car.
---
I bust open the doors to the school. I'm so upset but I'm too angry to cry. I walk to Adrien's first period class. I swing open the door, walk to his desk, and slam my book bag down beside him. I can tell he's been up all night. I'm about to start explaining to him what happened, but he looks up at me and I stop completely. For the first time, I truly see the sadness in his eyes. I can tell why he hates me. He thinks I never loved him. He thinks I broke his heart.
"I didn't do it." A tear rolls down my face.
"What?" His voice wavers a little.
"I said I didn't do it." I wipe the tear off and go back into angry mode. "I don't know why she would betray me like that, but she did. I'm in love with you. I could never do that to you."
"No. I'm not falling for that. You tricked me once. You're not gonna trick me again. I can't do that to myself."
"That's what I'm saying! I didn't trick you! I love you!"
"Please , Gabi. Just go. You've done enough damage."
"No. I didn't. Callie did this to us. I'm not gonna stop until I prove that I didn't do this."
"Whatever, Gabi." A couple tears fall down his cheek.
"By the end of today I'm gonna take you to dinner and you're gonna let me."
He doesn't even answer. He just shakes his head. It hurts me so bad to see him like that. I just want to hug him. I want him to know that I love him and that I didn't do it. But I can't do that without proof. So all I can do is walk away.
---
All of first period, I sit and think about any way I could possibly get proof that Callie was lying. But I come up with nothing. The bell rings, and almost instantly, it hits me. I have to take her phone. It brings me back to the beginning of the year when Callie and I stole Vanessa's phone. I guess that's karma at it's finest.
I grab Tessa, and we come up with a plan.
"Alright. After gym, when we're all in the locker room, you distract her while I grab her phone from her locker."
"You know that she's eventually gonna need it back, right?"
"I'm only keeping it long enough to take pictures of the evidence. She'll get her phone back when I get Adrien back."
"Okay, but this seems like a horrible idea."
"The best schemes are, Tessa." I smirk at her and we head to gym.
---
The whole class goes by, and we're both anxiously waiting for the coach to tell us to go change. Finally, he blows the whistle, and we hurry to the locker room. I wait patiently around the corner for Callie to put i the code to open her locker.
2 4 5 2 9
Then Tessa comes in and takes her to the sink to 'show her something on her phone'. I hurry up and enter the code.
2 4 5 2 9
I open the locker and take her phone out. I search through it and I go back to the date of October 25th. There's no point in looking at the texts from me to her because we already know what that says. I look at the texts with her friend Lydia.
Callie: I finally got her. Once her and Adrien are finally together I'm gonna show him this and he'll hate her just like we do ;)
Then there are the screenshots that Adrien showed me last night.
Lydia: Are you sure? He loves her a lot, ur prlly gonna get caught lol
Callie: I'm sure. Adrien belongs with me, not her.
Lydia: Alright but don't blame me when it blows up in ur face haha
Callie: Okay whatever lol.
Yes! I got it! I take a screenshot of the texts and quickly put her phone back just in time for them to come back from the sink. We casually say bye to Callie and run to the lunch room where Adrien is. We walk in and there's a huge fight going on. After a while, I can finally see who's in the fight. It's Adrien. Of course.
"Here we go again." I say to Tessa.
It's about to get good ;) This was a filler chapter lol- K
