19. Dreams

(A/N: *clap* *clap* *clap* Y'all ready for a more EMO-tional chapter? Of course you are, and ready for me to cease my horrific sense of humor. Anyway, let's just get into this so I can stop the crickets from making noises every time I joke...)
Narrator:
Keith opened his eyes to find himself in an oddly familiar room, his old room in the castle. He looked around confused before he noticed two arms wrapped around him. He looked behind him and saw a sleeping Lance cuddled up to him. Keith's heart began to race and his stomach coiled as a deep blush painted his furry cheeks, and he was still Galra, he looked at his stomach, it wasn't a memory... he looked around the room, everything was there, then there were things he didn't recognize. New things, he realized that he and Lance had a ring on each of their hands, there were framed pictures that he didn't remember. Then he saw a cradle where a baby girl was sleeping with a lion stuffy, then Soren sleeping in a bed. This is exactly what Keith had wanted when Soren was born. He felt happy tears fall from his eyes as he never wanted this to end. He turned and hugged Lance softly chanting 'I love you' 'I love you' 'I still love you' Keith was confused by him adding the word "still" until Lance started talking.

Lance: Keith...

Keith: Lance?

Lance: Keith, wake up.

Keith: Wait what...?

Lance: Dad wake up.

Why did Lance suddenly sound like Soren?

Keith: Dad? What do you mean dad, and I am up.

Lance: Dad, wake up.

Keith then closed his eyes and opened them to see Soren waking him up looking at him. He sat up and realized all of it was just a dream, he felt real tears start to build in his eyes.

Soren: Daddy...? Are you okay? You're crying...

Keith: I-I know buddy... j-just head down with everyone else, tell them I'll be down in a second okay?

Soren: Okay...

Soren left the room. Lance sat at the table completely silent like usual for the past eleven years. Then he saw Soren walk downstairs without Keith.

Pidge: Is Keith coming?

Soren: Yeah, I just woke him up and he started crying...

Shiro: Crying? Why?

Soren: I don't know, I did hear him muttering in his sleep...

Hunk: What was he saying?

Soren: He was mumbling a little bit about I think being married, then he said something about still loving someone, and he kept saying 'Lance'...

Everyone turned their heads to Lance who was just as confused as everyone else. Though there was a noticeable blush on his cheeks.

Pidge: *muttering* Okay, why do I want to start shipping them again...? Seriously this is the second time this week that he had a dream with Lance in it...

Lance: Wait what...?

Hunk: Over the past eleven years since we left he would have dreams about you that aren't very rare.

Pidge: Though most of them are negative dreams where it usually includes a fight, you leaving him, him not forgiving you for leaving him and Soren... OOH! Forgot to mention, Soren and Cloves's last names are Kogane, not McClain like he was planning.

Lance felt mixed emotions. On one hand, he was upset that Keith would give a massive burn like that after they had had this long argument that had Lance wanting to have Soren's last name be Kogane, and Keith wanted his last name to be McClain, so that just made the whole argument completely useless. But then he could understand why most of his dreams about him were negative, and within seconds his feelings of being sorry to still being hurt or upset changed from:

By that point his sorry side begun to conquer the rest of his mind, he wanted to apologize, explain why he was upset, try to make it up to him, and hopefully they would at least be on good terms again, if not friends. Now, he'd made up his mind, he was going to talk to Keith, and Soren if he was confident enough to do so, and if Keith would let him.
After Breakfast
Lance was sitting on the couch where he slept thinking about what he was going to say, he hadn't talked to Keith in eleven years, and for that matter, it only made him feel worse as the fact dawned upon him that he still felt upset at him after eleven years. Then he thought back to their original fight after Soren was born, at this point he had no idea why he said that, then he started hearing Keith's cries and pleads again before the full memory filled his mind. Lance was met with Keith on his knees crying his heart out, Lance couldn't tell if that sound of Keith's heart breaking was real, or something his mind created. Lance had begun to realize how difficult it was to watch Keith breaking apart like that, before he shut his eyes and tried to remember something, anything so he wouldn't have to continue watching. Then he was met with the memory's of him and Keith before Soren was born. Then he would see flashes of worry on Keith's face, in the moment, he didn't understand why, now he did. Then he was struck with a heavy realization that trumped all of the others, he was still in love with Keith. And he realized why he was so upset about he and Keith's argument about him being Soren's father, because he still misses Soren. He missed both of them, he missed Clove too, that would explain his arm habit in the mornings, why he was quiet on the ship after they left, he just noticed how few emotions he felt when all of them were gone. He remembered when he held Soren for that brief period, and when he saw Soren for the first time, now he wished he could hold him right now and tell him how much he loves him. Then hug Keith and tell him how much he loves him followed by a kiss. Then he realized he'd zoned out and saw the massive tears spilling from his face. He wiped them off with his sleeve before he saw Keith sitting outside again, he got up and put his hand on the door handle.

Lance: 'Here goes nothing...'

Lance let out a nervous sigh as he opened the door.

(A/N: SO SORRY about the wait for this chapter and sorry if you didn't want to cry and you did... but the next chapter will (hopefully) be happier. And I'm pretty happy now cause. . . *deep breath* FIVE!THOUSAND! READS!!!!! 😱🤩, Thank you so much, This has to be one of if not the most read story on my account!!! I seriously appreciate that you all enjoy this story, parts of me are coming up with this story as I type, some ideas I've had for a week or something. Anyway thanks for bearing with me on the slow updates... but again, thank you so much for the reads!!!)
