A Missing Paladin [Klance]

16. Hurtful Statements

Narrator:
Keith fell out of the pod but nobody tried to catch him except for Hunk and Pidge. He then remembered what happened and started looking for Soren before letting out a sigh of relief when he saw Lance standing beside him holding a crying Soren.

Keith: I-is he okay...?

Lance looked away from him and didn't answer. Allura crossed her arms.

Allura: I don't think that's half as important as what's happening now!

Keith looked and realized he'd gone Galra.

Keith: Uh oh...

Pidge: Allura, calm down...

Allura: We just found out that one of our teammates is Zarkon and Haggar's grandchild! Don't tell me to calm down!

Keith looked down before seeing that Lance had given Soren to Pidge and left the room. He quickly tried to run after him while the other Paladins were still arguing.

Keith: L-Lance? Where are you going?

Lance: You lied to me...

Keith: W-what...?

Lance didn't look at Keith.

Lance: You never told me you were a Galra! And you never told me our son was a Galra! You lied to me!

Keith: I know it's just...

Lance started walking away.

Keith: Lance! Don't leave! Please!

Lance: Keith, if I'd known you were Galra before I got you pregnant with Soren we wouldn't be in this situation.

Keith started to cry.

Keith: W-what do you mean?!

Lance turned around and looked at Keith with a dull expression.

Lance: Soren wouldn't exist if I knew what you were.

Keith was caught completely off guard by that, he couldn't believe Lance said that. Lance turned away as more tears started falling from Keith's eyes. Lance started walking away again, Keith was walking after him continuing to plead.

Keith: Lance! Lance please I'm sorry!

Lance stopped for a final time with a cold expression.

Lance: Why did you openly fall in love with me if you weren't planning on telling me?

Keith: B-because I didn't want to get close to you and then have you leave me in the dirt...

Lance's expression only got colder.

Lance: Well, there were two choices you should have made. You could have kept your secret in the dark and stayed away from me, or you could have told everyone and you would have had a chance of me loving you and Soren back.

Keith fell to his knees now beginning to break into loud sobs.

Keith: Lance please! Don't leave!

Lance started walking away again and didn't stop for Keith's pleads, nor did he ever look at him.

Keith: Lance please I'm sorry! Please! Lance!

Lance was gone and Keith was left there in the dirt with Soren and a broken heart. Shiro, Allura and Coran walked past Keith without so much as a glance at him. Pidge and Hunk walked out and ran toward Keith.

Hunk: Keith, calm down, L-Lance just needs some time to process this...?

Keith: *sniff* No... he doesn't...
