Rakkon holds me close in an embrace, his scent enveloping me as he tells me, "I thought as much, but I wanted assurance," he chuckles and then kisses me on the forehead, "you're going to make an excellent mother."
I feel sick.
It's not due to the now known pregnancy this time...
...but I voice my concern a second later as tears form in my eyes. I can't even bring myself to form words when my lips part, standing between Rakkon's thighs while he sits on the bed. His embrace loosens and his eyes meet mine when he asks, "Ash?"
His eyes search mine with confusion, worry and concern crossing his features as I try to lower my gaze. He won't have any of it, bringing my gaze back to meet with his...all the while, he brushes the few tears that escape from the corners of my eyes.
"Ash? What's wrong?" His concern is endearing and it pangs my heart with guilt when he asks, his voice losing the strength he has as an alpha, "You're not...happy? I thought you wanted to have a pup one day?"
"No, it's not that," my voice holds a watery edge as I release a small sob, shaking my head as I whisper out, "I don't want to end up disappointing you..." my voice trails off as his eyes hold mine, "...if it's an omega."
Surely...
...he'd be the greatest target among those that would challenge him and the Nightshade Prowlers Pack as the strongest...if his pup was omega born.
"Ash...I told you before," his fingers loosely hold my chin, searching my soul, "the Moon Goddess makes no mistakes and I'd never be disappointed in you. I love you and couldn't imagine a life without you in it."
Nodding my head, I inhale a deep breath as I steady my heart rate. He smiles at me and says, "I've had the raw meat relocated to an enclosed room with a separate kitchen station. This way, you won't get sick from the smell as it won't be able to reach you."
My heart melts for this man, a small smile making its way onto my face when I wrap my arms around his neck. He chuckles while pulling me into a deeper embrace, holding me gently as he then asks, "Would you like to try a little something to eat?"
I nod and reply, "Just not anything heavy."
"Alright, let's go see if we can get you a fruit bowl mixed up and I can formally introduce you to Alpha Victor," Rakkon's gaze meets mine again when we pull away slightly from one another. I change into new clothes and follow Rakkon out to the second level before we reach the main floor. A lot of the pack members are having fun mingling with those of the guest pack, though I garnish a few quick looks from those who don't know me.
Their surprise is even greater when Rakkon is the one to help me in the kitchen get together fruit. Mangos, strawberries, melons, bananas, and kiwis are what we manage to scrounge up into a delicious fruit bowl. He chuckles when I take a few bites and end up eating half of it before we leave the kitchen. He sits with me at the dining room table, talking about how he's looking forward to being a father when I feel a strong presence coming down the stairs.
My eyes are drawn to that of a very young adult alpha, his eyes landing on me when he reaches the bottom step. His brown hair falls around his features, his matching eyes hold mine for just a moment...
