Chapter 20

---

"I wish Alois never existed," Ciel said. He was frusterated.

"I used to love him," I said. He hung his head low, swearing to himself.

"I was always suspicious about him! We need to find these shards!" he loudly said. I felt bad for the kid. He has been through tough times in his life, and it mskes me kind of sad.

"There has to be a birthday here somewhere!" I said, looking through the windows of homes.

"Isn't there a parade at the back of the town?" Ciel asked. I thought for a moment.

"I'm not sure, I don't know about the town as much," I said. He led me to the parade, which wasn't there.

"I could've sworn! Bloody hell, it's probably passed or it's tomorrow!" Ciel shouted. I tried to calm him down.

"Patience is what we need right now," I said. He stayed silent for a while. Then, I heard something.

"Hey, does that sound like a party?" I asked. Ciel perked up and listened.

"I believe so," he replied. We walked towards a medium sized apartment and the noise got louder. We walked through the wall, and the rucus came from room A7. We walked in.

"An anniversary!" I exclaimed. "We can surely find a shard here!"

"Over there," Ciel said before walking to a corner of the room and grabbed a Spirit Shard.

"Wow," I exclaimed, "that was easy." Ciel agreed and we went through the wall, looking for the second shard.

"I here someone shouting," I said. Ciel perked up.

"I hear it, too," he said. We slowly made our way to a huge school in front of us. The shouting got louder.

"A celebration," I happily said. A loud voice was heard. I thought it was a microphone. An assembly!

"Let's go," Ciel suggested. We went through the walls, and ended up in a silent hallway. We listenes carefully.

"To the right," I said. We went right. Then we found ourselves in front of two large doors, leading to the gymnasium.

"It doesn't seem as loud," I complained. We slid through the doors and saw practically the whole school sitting on chairs, praying.

"What the hell is this?" Ciel demanded. Everyone was praying. Did something bad happen?

Suddenly, the woman with a microphone started speaking.

"We wish (Y/N) (L/N) good luck in Heaven," she said. I stared at her, not breathing. I realized it.

"This is my school!" I said. "I died, they found out, they're praying!"

"Wow," Ciel said. He wasn't talking much. It seemed like something was bothering him.

"By the way, what is that?" he asked, pointing to a red shard in a corner. I shrugged, and we walked over to it.

"This isn't a Spirit Shard," I said. I went to touch it, but a startling voice startled me.

"Don't touch it!" it yelled. Ciel and I quickly turned around to spot a demon looking creature.

"W-What are you?" I nervously asked. Ciel walked in front of me, blocking me, shielding me.

"I am Render, leader of the Demon tribe," he said. I started trembling a bit.

"What is that shard?" Ciel demanded. Render snickered.

"That is a Demon Shard. Touch it, you're a demon. They appear at times where you pray or if a sad event is going on," Render explained. His voice was scratchy and deafening. I pressed up to Ciel.

"Thanks for warning us. We will be on our way, now," Ciel said. He grabbed my hand rather tightly and we went through the wall, ending up into the hallway again.

"Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded, asking me the same thing.

"I wish none of this even happened!" Ciel muttered.

I wish....
