Avery walked through the door of the Littleton County Skating Rink. This was the place where all the middle and high schoolers hung out. As she walked through the door, Avery immediately searched for her friends. She looked everywhere, but couldn't find them. Who she found was her ex. He was skating, as always.

She didn't want to talk to him, it would hurt too much. "Alright skaters, clear the floor for dancing." said a voice through the speakers. Now Avery could forget about her ex and have fun. Avery got on the floor and started dancing to the music. while she was dancing, Avery was startled by arms wrapping around her waist.

"I knew you were a stripper, you're dancing like one." Said the person.

"Oh no," Avery thought out loud.

"Hi!" Said Ash.

"Rape." Said Avery.

"It's not rape if you enjoy it." Said Ash.

"Nope, pretty sure this is rape." Said Avery. Ash dropped his arms.

"Since when do you come to the rink?" Ask Avery. "Since now." Said Ash.

Avery rolled her eyes. "May I have this dance?" Ask Ash. Avery hesitated.

"Only because you're the only one here I know and I'm bored AF." She finally answered.

At that moment Avery's favorite song started playing. Avery was hyped now. "Here's the thing," Avery said "I'm not some classical ballet dancer, you really think you can keep with me?"

Ash laughed. "You'll have to catch up with me." He said.

They danced, their moves hitting every beat. As they were dancing Avery noticed... Ash had skill.

Avery start using moves from her favorite duet. To her surprise Ash knew the dance and participated in dancing the other persons part. They were moving in perfect sync. When Ash took Avery's hand to pull her into a spin, Avery noticed her ex watching.

She pushed the thought of him out of her mind. She was having fun and he wasn't going to ruin it.

Still dancing, Avery felt guilt rising in her. This isn't right, she thought. This was her best friends boyfriend, she couldn't fall in love with him again. Yet, she was having so much fun.

"Skaters back on the floor." Said the voice through the speakers. "Imma go to the canteen." Said Ash. "K" Avery responded. Avery started walking around the outside of the skating floor when someone pulled her arm from behind.

She jerked around. It was her ex. "You couldn't wait to move on to someone else, could you?" He asked. "You know that makes you seem like a whore--". "first of all," Avery said "it's not even like that." " second, get out of my business." "And third, you broke up with me, stop playing the victim."
