For One Night

•Ash's perspective•

"Ok, I told her." Said Avery. "Great." I said. "I'll be right back, I'm going to the bathroom." She said. "Ok." I watched Avery walk away.

I went to the other side of the rink to sit down. I took out my phone  scrolled through all of my texts with Julia and wondered. Was it really all for nothing?...what I'm about to do..is it really worth it? I noticed someone was standing in front of me and looked up. It was they guy I saw Avery talking to earlier. "Um..hi" he said. "Hi," I said back "you know Avery right?" "Something like that.." he answered. "Anyways, I know you dont know me, but I know you." Ok... "Actually I've known you for a while.." he paused. "..and...I like you.." he finally said. I tried to hold back a laugh in case this guy was serious. I literally just met him. "I'm sorry,"  I said "but I'm not gay..and Im kinda taken."
The guy just nodded and walked away. I kinda felt bad for him..but I can't help everyone. Right now I'm about to do something I should've done a long time ago. Avery came back. "I'm back." She said.

"Welcome back." I said. She took a seat next to me. "I have a question." I announced to her. "Ask away." She said. "Who was that guy you were talking to earlier?" "Someone in my past.." said Avery "why do you ask?"
"Umm.." I hesitated. "Just say it." Avery said, almost assertively. "He just came out to me and on to me." "Wow," said Avery "just wow." "Yea.." "what did you say to him?" She asks. "I tried so hard not to laugh." "I almost did when you told me," she said with a smile "I mean that's not a joke but like him, really?" "Well I didn't know I was that attractive" I said. "Don't flatter yourself." Avery wheezed. We both laughed.

"Anyway," I said. Here we go.. " I have to tell you something...I should've told you the very moment I found out.." "the moment you found out what?" She gave me a worried look. "I love you Avery. I think I want to spend every day with you. I-" "Ash do yourself a favor and and shut up before you say something you'll regret." Avery cut me off, her whole demeanor changed. "There's nothing to regret," I said "I know I want to do this, and I know Avery.. somewhere in your heart you feel the same." "Ash you date my best friend. As much as I might have feelings for you..I can't hurt her like that. I'm not that type of person." She said not facing me. I took her face in my hand and turned her head to face me. "Can you be that type of person for one night?" I ask. My heart was drumming beats in my chest as I leaned in to feel her soft lips on mine. She kissed back. 

•End perspective•

When they broke away suddenly both of them had a suspicion someone was watching them. They turned to see that Julia had just walked through the door. Their hearts that were once fluttering instantly sunk. Did she see? Tears were streaming from her eyes to her cheeks. There was their answer.

It's like I don't know why it took me so long to realize- why the frick did I make these characters have the same beginning letter in their names? Like just why? What would their ship name even be? I am so irritated by myself right now. Anyways hope you like the chapter. I enjoyed writing this one so tell me what you think.
