Avery's perspective

My ex and I went back up to the waiting room. When we arrived, a nurse was awaiting us.

"Oh great, your back miss...-"

"Avery," I answered for her, "just Avery."

"Avery," she said, "we've gotten info back on..-" "Ash" I said. "Yes," she said, "I've been told that he is currently in a coma."

"Wha- w-will he ever wake up?' I asked. "We don't know." Of course. "Can I see him?" I asked. "Sure," said the nurse, "I have to speak with Michael anyway."

"Hey little bro!" "Michael!" I hugged him. "Looks like someone missed me." He said with a smile. "Where have you been?" I asked. "I..had to go away for awhile." He said. "Never leave me again Michael, please." I pleaded. "I won't." "Promise?" He hugged me tight.

"Promise."

You promised you wouldn't leave..

Michael's perspective

"Hey," I said, "I..I'm sor-" "Don't." Avery snapped at me, "I said I forgive you for leaving me. Don't ruin it by saying sorry about this when you know it won't cut it." Avery walked down the hall, avoiding my gaze, having no idea where Ash's room was.

•Avery's perspective•

I walked past a few rooms, in one finally seeing Ash lying there. Feeling weak and having no idea what to do, I just stood there.

Hidden perspective•

I hear someone..who's there? "Hey," said a female voice. Avery? "Heh, I don't even know what to say, more or less what to do." She paused. "I just wanna hope that you're ok.." I am ok. "I don't even know if you can hear me." I can hear you. I hear soft footsteps leaving the room. But you can't hear me.

When Avery went back to the waiting room, Michael was staring off, unblinking.

^Flashback^

"Michael?! What's going on?" "No time to explain. I need you to go to the best hiding spot you can find ok?" "I'm scared.." "I know you are, but right now you need to be strong little bro." "Will you still be here when I come out?" "Yes."

I promise.

•Averts perspective•

"Hey," I said, "you ok?" Michael was unresponsive. "Hey, dude." He still didn't respond. "Michael!"
Michael startled. "Uh.. sorry.. just thinking about something."

"It must be important, you were out for a bit." I said, a little worried. "It was just something in my past." Michael responded. I took a seat beside him. "Wanna talk about it?" I asked. "I thought we weren't going to be the best of friends." "That doesn't mean i don't wanna help." I supportively put my hand on his back.

Michael hesitated. "..I don't want to talk about it right now." "Ok," i said, "but I'm always here if you want to." I Thought for a second. "Well..not if you kill Ash."

There was an awkward silence. "I hope you weren't expecting me to laugh at that." Michael said. "Nope, cuz if you did I would have killed you." I shot. "I believe it." Said Michael.

°While Avery was gone°

"It's good to see you again Michael." Said the nurse.

Michael rolled his eyes.

"Jesus Michael, I'm your mother, you could be a bit more polite."

"Says the woman who hated her son so much that she hired people to kill him."
"How did a nun figure out how to summon demons anyway? Oh right you're not one anymore, you broke your code." Michael spat out.

"I'm not here to talk about past." Michael's mother said, pained.

"Then why are you here?" Michael asked.

"..I found your brother."

Michael's heart twinged. He actually couldn't think of what words to say. All that came out was - "..how- w-when...where is he?"

Michael's mother took a deep breath, tearing up a little. "M-michael..

Michael for the first time looked at his mother with sympathy.

"Ash is your brother."

She finally got out.
