"No..no...NO!" Avery screamed. As Avery saw Ash's eyes close, something in her clicked. "Get in the car." She said. "What?" Her ex asked. "I said get in the fucking car!" Avery yelled. Avery tried to get Ash to his feet. "Let's..just wait for the police." Said Avery's ex. "It's been near 20 minutes since I called them. I'm taking him now." Avery said, putting Ash's arm around her shoulder. Avery's ex came toward them. "Well, let me help y-" "Don't touch him and don't touch me." Avery snapped. Avery's ex backed off and went to the passenger side of the car.

•Ex's perspective•

It's my car. No one tells me to get in my own car. I really don't know why I'm listening to her. Oh wait, because she's a heartbroken teenager who has a machete and will kill me.

•End perspective•

Somehow Avery was able to lift Ash into the car. She opened the door to the driver side and slammed the door and the gas.

°15 minutes later°

Avery finally let her ex help her carry Ash. They carried him to the front desk where a lady was wearing pink everything. "Please help me he got hit by a car and j called but it's been near an hour and he's the love of my life and I really don't want to lose him." Said Avery with one breath. She didn't pay mind to the fact that she called him the love of her  life.

"Ok calm down miss," said the lady, "also sorry about how long you had to wait. We had an emergency here and out paramedics couldn't leave." The lady pushed a button that was underneath the desk and two nurse came out of a door down the hall. "Get this kid to the X-ray room." The lady said. The nurses got a wheelchair. Avery's ex set Ash down in the wheelchair. Avery squeezed Ash's hand. She looked up at the nurses and one of them nodded to assure Avery that he was in good hands. "You'll have to wait in the waiting room," the lady said, "and there's a cafe on the second floor."

Avery's ex hesitated. "Imma..go to the cafe." He said, not sure if Avery cared. She nodded and went to the waiting room. She sat down in one of the chairs, put her face in her hands, and tried to clear her head.

•Avery's perspective•

I never told him how I felt..
I tried to fight back the tears threatening to spill, when my stomach started growling. With everything going on, I forgot I hadn't eaten anything. I decided to go to the cafe.

•End perspective•

>In the cafe<

When Avery walked in the door, her ex was at the soda machine. Avery went up to the vending machine beside him. It was awkwardly silent. "Are the prices really that high in here?" Avery asked, trying to break the silence. "Yep." Said Avery's ex. Avery was examining what the vending machine held, deciding what she wanted. "You know," she said, "you could've just told me you were gay. I would've understood." "Bi lean, actually," said her ex, "and I know..I just didn't want to hurt you." "More than you already did?" Avery ask. "I know..it's just..how do you tell your girlfriend you love her but you prefer being with a guy more?" He ask. "I guess I forgive you," said Avery, " but that doesn't mean we're going to be the closest of friends." "Hah, ok" said Avery's ex, "truce?" "Truce."
