Rose's POV
It's dark all around. The cold sends shivers up and down my spine. I'm floating in the air, grasping for something to hold on to.
It's like that one scene of Alice in Wonderland where she's fallen down the rabbit hold and she's trying to grab ahold of something so she could stop falling.
But she can't. She just falls deeper and deeper into the world of imagination.
Except this is real. I'm falling and I have nothing to hold on to. I don't even know when I'm going to stop falling. It might just be a never ending loop.
As I stare into nothing, my body dead and frozen, I hear a soft voice whisper my name.
"Rose?" She whispers.
Suddenly, as if who ever was talking is controlling me, I feel my body go straight and my feet land on the floor. I tap my foot and water droplets splash all over. I look up and see a white light in the distance.
"Rose?" The voice repeats again.
I was closer to it and soon I'm able to make out a figure. My hands fly up to my mouth when I see who it is. My mother is standing before me in an elegant white, silk dress. Her face is as beautiful as it was on the last day she was alive. Her hair was down and flowing behind her.
I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her small torso, crying into her dress.
"Mom. Mom, I've missed you so much! I've been waiting for the moment when I can finally be with you again. And now I can. I'm here and I'm staying." I cry, pulling back to look at her face.
She gives me a soft smile, but it's quickly replaced with a frown. She reaches up to touch my cheek, her palm as cold as ice.
"You're not ready Rose. Please, don't make the same mistake I did." She whispers, pulling her hand back.
My eyes go wide. "What are you talking about, it's not my time!? I'm dead! Now I can finally be with you!"
She shakes her head, stepping away from me.
"It's not your time Rose. You have people up there that miss you. That care for you. I made a mistake killing myself. And I'm not about to let you do the same."
I shake my head and try to run towards her, but my feet are stuck in the ground. I watch as she stops and gives me one last smile before turning and walking away, turning into a ball of light again.
"No! Mom please! Please don't leave me again!" I scream, crying and reaching for her.
"Do something great with your life. I love you so much Rose. Don't forget that." Her voice echos in the darkness.
Soon, she's gone completely. I feel sadness overwhelming me, causing my body to shut down. I pound my fist into the ground, causing loud bangs to echo around me. Suddenly, the ground opens and I fall through. I scream, but nothing comes out. I'm once again caught in my continuous loop. I close my eyes as tears roll down my cheek.
God, if you can hear me, please help me. I don't know what to do. Mom didn't want me to make the mistake she did. She stated it's not my time. Am I supposed to do something with my life? How can I do something with my life if I don't even have one?
Mom you're not making any sense! It's frustrating!
God, tell me what I'm supposed to do. Am I dead? Is this where you go when you die? Is this what you had in store for me? Please guide me because I'm never been so lost. If I am still alive, try to heal me and bring me back. I saw those tears on Carrie. I've never seen her so hurt.
