Reader's Pov:
There was a knock on my door which caused me to look up from my paperwork. "Who is it?" "It's Hanji!" Hanji called from the other side.
Hanji was my best friend. She was the one who helped me with all my problems. We were friends to the end, despite her weird obsessions.
I put my paperwork to the side. "Come on in." I called back. She walks in with a book in her hand with a grin on her face. I knew that grin. She was excited.
"Thanks for your help, Hanji." I said. She sets the book down in the space that I cleared out for the book she was carrying. "No problem! So what is this guard like, anyway?" She asked.
"We're about to find out. As far as I know, he's very formal." I explained. She nodded in agreement and I opened the book.
The book was actually the history of the people of Zethana. I figured that knowing his name was enough to find his name in this book.
"Let's see...here we are. Levi Ackerman." I said. "That's his name? Sounds like a short person than a guard." Hanji giggled.
I elbowed her in the stomach which caused her to wince in pain. "A person can be both, you know." I said. "Okay, okay! I'm sorry!" And with that, we began reading his history.
Levi Ackerman was once a famous thug that lived out on the streets of Zethana. He spent his young years stealing food and riches in order to survive.
He continued his thug career until he was twelve years old, when the palace guards had caught him stealing some riches from a local shop. They took him to the palace so he could claim his guilt in front of the King and then be sent to his death.
However, plans were changed. King (F/n) was impressed with the look in Levi's eyes. Levi's eyes, according to His Majesty, held determination. Determination to fight. So he sent Levi to train with the new guards.
Levi surpassed all of the new guards, and even the instructor. King (F/n) was informed of this and was truly impressed. So he tested Levi's determination even further and granted him the position as Captain of the Knights.
Levi enjoyed being in this position. He could fight. He could fight people. King (F/n) didn't know at the time, but Levi was bloodthirsty back then, even as Captain. But as a couple years went on, Levi's loyalty to his country and kingdom grew.
After three years of being Captain, King (F/n) increased Levi's position to be his loyal guard. As much as an honor it is to serve the King himself, Levi didn't take to the offer right away. Despite his past, being bloodthirsty and all, he actually enjoyed being in the action, saving his kingdom and country. But in the end, he accepted the King's offer.
"Wow, Dad actually made a local thug a Captain of Knights just like that?" I questioned. "How old is this guy, anyway? He must not be much older than you!" Hanji wondered.
"Well, at least this guy is trained well. That thug thing kind of bothers me, though.." I muttered. "I'm sure it's nothing! The book says he's loyal now, right?!" Hanji reassured. "Sure.."
And there's the story of Levi! Kind of similar to Attack on Titan where he was a famous thug, but hey, none of you are complaining, are ya? 😏
