Chapter 15. Stressful Days and An Unwelcomed Suprise

I pulled open the wooden doors to the library with those giant oversized handles that are smooth and worn down to a light brown finish. I dragged my shoes over the purple carpet floor that bubbles up in the corners and splashes tiny dust clouds into little grey bunnies with every step. I felt as if the calm and comforting library settled like a blanket over my body and my brain as I shuffled past the counters and made my way inside.

Massive atlases, worn-out hardcover’s, and many books on journalism along with ligature. Bookshelves over taking the whole room, a check out table, books on carts, and yellowed pages with pencil lines, cracked bindings and broken spines, cover every corner of the place, but yet still formal with every look.

As geeky as this may sound I love the library, its calming and will put me at ease, just with everything that’s been going on, I needed it. It’s been almost a week since the boys left and me and Shell stayed back. Unfortunately we got our results back from the interviews with One Direction and I got 3rd, placing at a 89% on it. Kory’s won and got his article in New York times, I envied him but I new ever since Niall had entered back into my life school hasn’t necessarily my number one priority anymore. I am still getting good grades and all I’m just not on top anymore, but I didn’t ineludibly need to be on top, perhaps I just enjoyed it because I felt that I was doing the right thing. If one thing I did learn from Niall was to not take things to seriously and go with the flow, so I did exactly that. It didn’t turn out bad, it actually turned out pretty good and I was content with myself. Just then a call came vibrating through my jeans pocket. I accepted the call and glanced at the caller ID, Rose.

“Hey Rose what’s up?”

“Nothing really, just sitting at sound check and realized something that is sort of a big deal to me. Can I ask you a favor?” She asked me.

“Yes, sure what is it?” I replied

“If it is to much to ask, I know you are busy with school and everything but I left my safe over at Kenny’s and-”

“Kenny? Your ex?” I implied wondering what she could possibly have anything more to do with this guy.

“Yeah…That safe has my grandmothers necklace and some other inherited stuff in there that I would like back. But the problem is, I am in Dallas” She sighed through the phone.

“Sarah if it is to much to ask, will you get it for me?”

I honestly didn’t want to, but I would want someone to do it for me, so therefore I answered her question.

“Sure. BUT what about Kenny?”

“He she shouldn’t be there tonight around 6 because I remember some of the players saying they wanted to go on a road trip, so you should be good. The key is under a flower pot next to the door. When you get inside go down the hall way past the kitchen and a spare bedroom should be on your left, then in the closet to your right there is a safe no bigger than a shoe box. I just want it to be safe in good hands before I return back to New York city to get it. I can’t thank you enough Sarah! I owe you one!” She said Lightheartedly, I would be too if I was needed a safe to be rescued from my ex boyfriends house.

“No problem, I’ll get there at some point tonight! I actually need to get studying for my mid terms though, so ill speak to you later!” I told her.

“Oh Yeah! Good luck on those by the way! Thanks again! Bye!” She sang into the phone.

“Thanks, Bye Rose!” The phone went dead and I shoved it back into my back pocket.

The things I had lined up to do today were unbelievable, one thing after another, I barley got any studying in. Shelbee called me and told me to pick up some groceries for the dorm, my mum wanted to skype call and talk about life, Niall wanted to do that also, My laundry needed to get done, my phone bill needed to get paid before 6:00pm and I still had to get Rose’s safe from Kenny’s. Lovely. Sarah is going to fail midterms. exactly what I wanted. I just finished plucking some apples off the produce cart and put them into a bag when my phone once again vibrated in my pocket. I tied up the bag and pulled it out, Niall.
