A/N: Hello! I am a huge Fairy Tail fan, and of course I ship the OTPs (NaLu, GaLe, RoWen etc) but I thought I'd make this one a crack pairing sort of fanfiction, but don't worry, I'll make some crack ships, some OTPs and some... I don't know how to call it, oh well. Anyway, have fun with the story, I'll try to upload as fast as I can ^^
At first I thought, I'd only include Lucy and make her the main character, but I decided to include other characters (you'll see ^^)
--I don't own Fairy Tail, or the characters, I only own the plot--
Lucy P.O.V:
I sat in the darkest corner of the guild, reading a book about celestial magic. Lisanna came back from Edolas, and the guild was in an endless party mode. At first, I partied with them, being happy for the return of their beloved take over mage, but soon enough, I got tired of it.
“Hey, Lucy-san. What's the matter?” Wendy asked me, sitting beside me.
I looked at her, and gave off the best smile I could offer:”Ah, Wendy. It's nothing, really. I just came here to read in a quiet corner, considering most corners are used up as trash cans.”
“Oh, okay. I will go on a job now. Please tell Mirajane-san, because I can't find her anywhere and my train will come any minute.” Wendy informed me.
“Sure thing, be safe on the trip.” I shouted after the running sky dragon slayer.
I went to find Mirajane, which wasn't an easy task considering the fact that she went running around the guild, serving drinks and food. On my little quest of trying to find Mirajane, I bumped into Natsu.
I tapped his shoulder and said “Hey, Natsu! I need you to help me find-”
“Luce, I'm busy, let's talk later.” he cut me off, and turned back around, facing Lisanna, Gray and Erza.
This was weird. Usually Natsu was always willing to help me, he never cut me off so rudely. After quite a while, I finally found the bartender. She was currently at the bar, talking with Freed.
“Hey, Mira! I have to tell you something from Wendy. She left on a job, and I am supposed to tell you. She left already together with Charle.” I informed the bartender.
“Oh, alright, Lucy. Thanks for telling me. Would you like to drink something?” Mira sweetly asked me.
I thought if I should stay, or if I want to go home, but I decided one drink wouldn't be bad. “Sure thing, Mira, I'd love to stay. I'll take a strawberry vanilla milkshake” I said.
“Okay, just wait a minute” Mira chirped.
Jeez, she's always full of joy. No matter what, she will always greet us with a warm smile, she is there for everyone. She is the guild's big sister. I'm glad to call myself a Fairy Tail mage, and to have found such an amazing, new family.
“Here you go, Lucy.” Mira’s soft voice got me out of my thoughts. I smiled at her and gladly accepted it.
Mira turned back to converse with Freed, while I stared at the guild members, still partying. My gaze flew upon Natsu and Lisanna, sitting at a table on the far left. They looked so happy. I felt a wave of jealousy. I was so immersed in my own thoughts, that I didn't realize a certain blue Exceed flying into my chest.
“Oh, Happy, what's up with you?” I asked, still in my thoughts.
“L-L-Luuuccyyyy!” Happy cried.
I was taken aback, but regained my composure: “What's the matter, Happy? What happened?”
Happy stared at me with wide eyes, thick tears falling from his eyes “Lucy, I asked Natsu for a fish” he hiccuped “but he just... he just... he” Happy stumbled over his own words.
“What is it, Happy?” I asked slightly annoyed.
“HE IGNORED MEEE!!” Happy cried out.
I bet the whole guild heard him, because now they turned towards us, a questioning look written all over their faces. Well, the whole guild minus two: Natsu and Lisanna were in their own little world, lost in each others eyes.
“Oh Happy. I'll talk to Natsu, okay?” I asked, hoping it would calm him down.
“I already tried everything, but he just won't react to me!” Happy cried.
I felt bad for the blue Exceed, but Natsu ignored me too, so I guess we were on the same boat. I thought about how to gain Natsu's attention, and figured, if he only reacts to Lisanna, then we'd have to talk to Lisanna. I nodded, proud of my clever self, sat Happy onto the chair I was sitting on moments ago, and went over to Natsu and Lisanna.
I tapped Lisannas shoulder, and she turned around, facing me. Before I could say anything, she cut me off: “Oh, hi! You must be Lucy-san. I heard pretty much about you, from Natsu and Happy. Nice to meet you, I'm Lisanna.”
“Hi, Lisanna-san. I heard pretty much about you too, and I'm glad to finally meeting you. Anyway, I'd like to ask you something real quick.” I said, stealing quick glances at Natsu.
“Sure thing, go ahead, Lucy-san.” Lisanna nodded with a smile.
“So, Happy was desperately asking for a fish from Flame idiot over here” I gestured at Natsu who was staring off into space, “but somehow he doesn't react to either Happy or me, so I figured, you could ask him and then give the fish to Happy or me, if you don't want to stand up.” I explained.
Lisanna giggled at my insult, but finally nodded and asked Natsu for a fish, and scolded him for ignoring his own friends. A few minutes later, Lisanna gave me a fish, and I smiled.
“By the way, Lisanna-san, just call me Lucy, we're friends, right?” I smiled.
Lisanna looked glad to hear that, stood up and gave me a hug. I was stiff like a tree trunk, but soon melted into the hug.
“Okay, Lucy. You can call me Lisanna or Lis. Anyway, I'd like to thank you for taking suck good care for Natsu while I was gone. He talks pretty much about you and your keys, and I heard quite amusing things about you.” Lisanna smiled.
“No prob'! I'll go back to Happy now, see ya later, Lisanna-chan!” I waved goodbye and went over to a depressed Happy.
“Happy, stop being depressed, here's your fish” I said.
Happy looked up at me, gave me a huge smile and started following me around the rest of the day. It was a little annoying, but I understood why. I bid my goodbye to Lisanna and the rest, I tried to gain Natsu's attention, but failed. I gave him a sad smile, but he looked like he stared right through me. He pretended like I was nothing more than air, and it's possibly the worst he could ever do to me.
The walk home was sealed by silence between me and Happy, whom I carried in my arms as he fell asleep a while ago. The snow flakes sailed down onto the ground gracefully, and silently. I couldn't say I love winter, but I love the snow more than rain. Snow is silent, and it stays, other than rain. I only noticed I forgot my jacket as I stood in front of my apartment. The cold pierced my skin like a thousand needles, but I didn't care.
I opened my door and put Happy to sleep into my bed. I went to my dresser, took out black sweat pants, a white tank top, and a black sweater, and went to the bathroom. Deciding on a hot bath, I put bath salts into the bathtub, stripped from my clothes and sunk into the warm water. It embraced me and I sunk into the bathtub.
I closed my eyes, allowing tears to fall. I didn't understand why he ignored me. My heart was tugging in my chest, but I had to be strong. I was somehow glad it wasn't only me who Natsu ignored me, but everyone, except Lisanna.
Deciding that was enough, I washed my hair with the new shampoo I bought. It smelled like cinnamon, which was perfect for this time of the year, and went out of the bathtub. I got dressed into the clothes I put out already, braided my wet hair and went into the kitchen, checking on Happy on the way.
I made a hot chocolate for myself and sat down on my couch. I drank it in silence, humming a soft melody to myself, with a blank mind. After I was done, I put the mug into the sink, and crawled into my warm bed, with Happy snuggling into my chest. I fell into a dreamless slumber.
A/N: So, i hope you enjoyed the first chapter, the next one is coming up very soon, so stay tuned X3
