Lost in guilt

We walk inside to see Petra sweeping the floors. This is what she usually does in the morning. She tries to be noticed by the Captain because she has a crush on him. I roll my eyes and look at her sweeping harder once Levi entered the room. I should ruin it for her, but i'm a good person, so i won't. But i will if it comes to that.

"Good morning, Petra," Levi greeted, looking at the poor job she's done so far. He kicks the dirt already in a pile around. "Start again. That was already horrible" Levi said like it would never effect him. He did it as if he was a heartless man that just wanted to hurt someone's feelings for pleasure. I have no idea how he did it, but i envied the balls it took for someone to do something so rude.

"Eren, follow me." he said as I obeyed him and followed him into a room. He shut it and locked it. "Eren, I need you to do me a very important favor" He said, stepping closer. I took off his hoodie and i handed it to him. I stood there as he came closer. Luckily right as I thought he was going to kiss me, he walked past me and opened another door with a stairwell down to a small lit room. "I need you to go down here and gather all the trash," he said, handing me a bag off the long red wooden table.

"oh, okay" I said as i slowly walked down the stairs, and I heard you follow. My feet hit the concrete floor, and so did yours. I look back at you, and you sat down on the second to last stair, looking back at me. turn around and start going around and picking up all the trash around the small room. I tied the bag shut after every little piece of trash was in the bag. I walked back to him and I see him looking at me already.

"Done already?" He asked, getting up to check. i nod my head and I watch him look around and check. "Good job, Eren. Thank you for doing me that favor" he said politely, grabbing the bag out of my hand and slowly heading up the stairs. Did he seriously just thank me? He doesn't thank anyone. I slowly follow him upstairs, and I shut the door behind me.

"You're welcome, Captian." I said as he unlocked the doo and opened it. I started to walk out of the room. He stops me. He turns me around and points at the dusty wooden tables and chairs. I roll my eyes.

"Dust these then you may go" he said glaring at me. I walk out and grab the feather duster and I run it along all the dusty objects in the room til they were clean. I then glare at Levi when finished. He nodded his head. "Ok, Eren, you may go now," He said looking at me with a twinkle of thankfulness in his eye. "Just please remember to put the duster away." I nodded as I left the room and placed it neatly with all the other dirty ones in the wash basin. I walk out and I go down to my room in the basement.

I sit on my bed. I had to think a little. It was very weird that he thanked me for a favor so simple. We all do harder jobs every day and he has never thanked us. I guess he thought I would think it would be too simple. So he thanked me so then I'd know that he knew it was small but he needed it done. But why me when he could easily do it himself? That's what really tripped me. I decided to go for a ride on my horse. I walk outside and I hop on, and he gallops away as I try to think.

After a while, I decided to drop the fact he thanked me and I just went on and to the small park area with my horse. I leaned forward, causing it to go a little faster, and then I stop at a 4 1/2 foot stone wall. I hop off and hold the leather rains and i walk him around for a bit. I tripped on a hole and he kicked me in the back.

"Aack" I say, standing up and rubbing my back in pain. i pet the horse gently and I circle around and I hop on again at the wall. The horse and I get back to the castle rather quickly, and I hop off and I fetch him some feed. Then I spot Levi again, brushing his horse's fur. He was talking to it, too but I tried not to listen in though i really wanted to. I let my horse eat and I then pet it again and put him back in his stall. I walk by, trying to not let Levi notice me, but luckily Hanji comes and stops me.

"Hey, Eren!" She calls from about 20 feet away. "Have you seen Petra?" She asks loudly. I look at her and she looked a little worried, but still bombastic as usual.

"I saw her two hours ago sweeping" I called back shrugging my shoulders. "I'm sorry, I dont think that's much help though." She looked disappointed. She didn't even reply to me, she just ran away, searching for her. I look over at Levi, he was still talking to his horse like he never even noticed me. I did a mental sigh of relief and I begin to walk away. I walk by Levi and his horse and I caught a couple things he was talking about when I walk by.

"You see, when people put new horseshoes on your feet, all they do is hurt them. Don't worry, daddy isn't going to hurt you like that" he said. I chuckle and he glares at me. "What's so funny, Jaeger?" He asks, and I turn around. My smile drops and I look him in the eye.

"Sorry, sir, it's just the way you're talking to your horse... It amuses me" I said chuckling a little. He glared at me with his usual stare.

"Not very funny, Eren. Laugh at me like that again, you'll have to deal with me" He said smirking but then turns back to the horse. Thats very weird. He smiled again. He never smiles, but then he smiles twice in one day. At me, too. But to be honest, I really liked his smile. It was pretty attractive. But it's not like I like him or anything. I look at him again.

"Again, sir, I'm sorry" I said as I turned my head and walked away. I tiried my hardest not to laugh again until I get into my room back in the Castle. I walk in again, and I start laughing my ass off. I look out the window, and he's right on the other side of the glass, looking at me.
