Lost in guilt

Four

I stood there, stunned. He looked at me with no expression on his face. I tried to gather all the possibilities that could add up to why he wanted me to ride with him.

"I'll get my own horse" I say and turn to go and grab my horse. I untie him and I climb on, and I slowly let him trot over to Levi. He looks at the horse then me then back at my horse again. He says something under his breath that I couldn't hear. We begin to ride off and he starts making the horse run. I follow him and I lean forward with the horse. I gripped onto the rains tightly. I soon reach his side and I look over at him. He didn't look over at me, but straight in front of him. He slows down though, then looks at me as I hear the clip clopping of our horses.

"Eren, I bet you're wondering why I asked you to join me" He said, looking at me as I looked forward. I nod my head in agreement to what he just said. "Well I will tell you that reason later we just need to get to where I wanted to be." He said going in front of me and I then match his speed again and I'm at his side. I started to wonder about how he gets on that horse.

"Corpral?" I ask looking at him. He looks back at me and waits for me to continue. "H-how do you manage to get on that horse? So many people wonder why, and I was just curious." I said trying not to laugh. He smirks and chuckles quietly.

"Well, first of all I step on the foot rest and then I use the rest of my strength to hop on. Just like everyone else." He replied, chuckling again after he finished. "Now you can tell your friends that" He said looking at me again. "But you can't tell them anything about what I'm about to tell you once we reach our destination" He said as we kept riding.

"Okay?" I got a little confused. Why would he be bringing me out this far just to tell me something? It must me majorly important. "What is it about?" I ask. He looks at me with sparkling eyes.

"Nothing to do with work" He said as we turned slowly and the horses kept clip clopping down the dirt path. "This must really make you wonder, eh Jaeger? Well I'm trying to suspend you from knowing a little longer. We are almost here" He said staring at me. He looked me in the eye like he really respected me. I really liked that, too. He then looked forward and we kept riding til we saw a large lake. He stopped there near trees, and I followed and I tied up my horse on a branch.

"So-" He put a hand to my face to quiet me. He turned around and took my hand and lead me to the lake and he sat down. he patted a seat next to him for me to sit next to him and I did. "What's this about?" I ask, looking at him. He looked back at me and sighed a great deal.

"Eren, I have found out something that is rather very unusual. I tried to forget it but it is taking me over like a virus," He paused to sigh again. What is he trying to say? I was so confused. It felt like time stopped and I was just sitting there, feeling no specific emotion and no specific idea in my mind.

"I'm confused" I admitted, looking down at the thick sand I was sitting on. He placed a hand on my knee, and I look back up and at him. He was smiling. I was really more nervous than scared at this point. Nervous about what he was trying to say. He was touching me and smiling. Some things he never does. He can never touch me without it being a punch. I thought that was true. I guess not, now. I scooted away a bit, and I let his hand come off. He then stands, and holds out his hand to help me up. I didn't take it and I just got up on my own, brushing the sand off my pants.

We start walking to near a stone wall and we walk around it. He was still trying to say what he wanted to say without actually saying it. "Wait, I'm still confused, sir." I said, and he stopped me, and I leaned against the wall. He trapped me with his arm on the wall blocking my exit.

"Call me Levi," He said looking me in the eye again. "Eren, I like you," he said looking at me. I still was confused. I pressed myself against the wall trying to move the wall so then I could move back some more. It wouldn't move, and I hoped he meant as a friend.

"Okay, Levi," I gulped and took a deep breath. "So you like me as a friend, right?" I asked looking at his face. It was expressionless for a moment, but then he chuckled. Then I knew I was wrong. Well at least most likely. I tried to think before he spoke. Do I like him? I dreamt about him and I seem to enjoy his company. I also was staring at him. I dropped that and thought if he actually liked me.

"No, not as a friend," He laughed for a second before continuing. "I like you as in I have a crush on you." He said. My heart dropped. My hair was all on the wall and I was worried it might nit come off with me as I leave. I tried to think. Did I like him? I had no idea. But then the question popped up. "Eren, do you like me, too?" He asked, getting closer and leaning his forearm on the wall. I didn't blink. I didn't move. I didn't breathe. I was too busy thinking. Lance Corpral Levi LIKES me? I thought through all the proof I had, and I realised I did, in fact like him. At least a little.

I blushed and I nodded my head. He smiled and he looked at me for a second. I tried to look away from his eyes, but they were too bright, like a candle in a dark room. Well, in fact, two. He slowly got closer, and I didn't know what he was doing. He then brought his head up a little more, closed his eyes, and he kissed me. I was a little stunned at first, but I slowly closed my eyes and kissed him back. It felt good to feel loved by someone you thought hated you. It really did. I felt his warm, soft lips touch mine and I felt like one of the happiest people alive.

But soon our lips part, and we slowly opened our eyes again. I stared into them again. He stared into mine too, but then stopped leaning on the wall and he crossed his arms and looked up at me.

"So are we a couple or what?" He asked impatiently. I smiled and nodded, blushing. He then grabbed my chin and kissed me again. I placed my hands on his hips and he wrapped his arms around my neck. I soon let go, and we smile at eachother. "You can't talk about this, ok?" He said as we slowly walked back to the horses and we climbed on.

"Yes, sir." I said still blushing but I looked down. It was quite wierd to get kissed for once. I had never kissed before. Well on the cheek but not on the lips. He glared at me.

"Brat, save that for when we're not alone. I told you to call me Levi" he said as I look back at him and blush harder. "I see you are still a little surprised" he said smiling. I nod my head. "Get used to it. I already told Hanji that I'm taking you out for training." He said starting to sound like normal Captain Levi again. I nod my head and I looked at the scenery as the horses trotted home.
