Part Five

It is finally the weekend and Jimin was a complete flurry of emotions. He truly didn't know exactly how he should feel. He was excited to go on this date with Yoongi, but also terrified at the same time. What if the guy he's been talking to is actually just a creep? What if he's a catfish and won't even show up to the date? What if he doesn't actually live in Daegu? There were so many questions flying through his head that he didn't even have the answers to. But, he's hoping that Yoongi is exactly how he presents himself to be.

This is the first time Jimin has gone on an official date in months. He's been in a few relationships, but none of them have ever really worked out for him. He's tried to just focus on himself for a while, especially since he's about to graduate high school soon. But, sometimes being by himself all the time can get lonely and he didn't like that. He found himself staring at himself in the mirror after getting dressed, trying to make sure that he looked right. He runs his hands through his bright orange hair and wonders if Yoongi will like it. He picks up his large black glasses, debating if he should wear them, contemplating if they look ugly on him or not. He lets out an exasperated sigh and sits back down on his bed. There was only one person who could solve his dilemma. He pulls out his phone and begins to text, hoping to get an answer.

Jimin: We have a code red! 🚨

He gets a text back immediately.

Jungkook🐰: Omg there hasn't been a code red in months! I was starting to think you'd be single forever! 🥹

Jungkook is one of Jimin's closest friends and who he confides in for any type of relationship issue. Even though he might not be the best person to ask for advice, especially with his history with relationships, Jungkook has never steered him wrong.

Jimin: yes i am very aware of that. But this one is different.

Jungkook🐰: how different? It can't be that different.

Jimin: Accidentally sent dick pick.

Jungkook🐰: Oh! That is very different! You haven't been with a guy in forever!

Jimin: absolutely amazing

Jungkook🐰: damn.

So, now you're doing on a date with him?

Jimin: well yeah, it just happened somehow. I just need you to convince me that he's not some creep or a catfish and that I don't look weird.

Jungkook🐰: first of all Jimin, you're hot. Don't get it twisted. I better not ever hear you say you look weird again.

Second, I can't tell you that he isn't a creep or a catfish because he very well could be! You should probably bring pepper spray just in case.

Jimin: thank you for the confidence boost. But, I don't want to get let down and go all the way to this date for nothing!

Jungkook🐰: well, do you like him?

Jimin: well, I don't know. It hasn't been but a few days since we started talking to each other...

Jungkook🐰: a few days and you're already going on a date?! 😐

Jimin!

Jimin: I know it sounds bad, but what if he's hot Jungkook? You have to have something other than a big dick right?!

Jungkook🐰: I know, but it's only been a few days. It's a little worrisome, you know. It hasn't been that long.

Jimin: i know, but we vibe so well and I just want to see what he's about. I know it went really fast, but you know I haven't been out since I got to Daegu. I haven't touched a single party or anything and you know that.

Jungkook🐰: I know. I just don't want you to get nabbed in Daegu before our graduation! You know we gotta get up out of this high school and go to college. And I kinda don't want to have to find another best friend. You and Taehyung are all I got.

Jimin: I know, but i'll be careful kookie I promise. Besides, you have my location and if something goes wrong you'll be the first to know.

Jungkook🐰: fine. He better be hot. 😒

Make sure you wear your glasses. You look good with them on. You better not go out there looking a mess.

Jimin: come on, it's me we're talking about. I never look a mess. 🤭

Jungkook🐰: that's the type of energy we need!! 👏🏻

Jimin: enough about me..how are you and Tae doing? Don't think I forgot about that little crush you have 😏

Jungkook🐰: well would you look at the time, I have to go to work. Text me what happens on your date! 😀😀

Jimin: you're avoiding the question! You don't even work!

Jungkook🐰: bye Jimin!!

Jimin laughs as he sets his phone down, looking at himself in the mirror once more. He smiles with his newfound confidence, putting his glasses on before heading down the stairs, getting hit with the aroma of sweet and savory spices. He finds his grandmother in the kitchen, humming a tune as she dices up some vegetables. She looks up when he comes in and smiles. "Jiminie, you look so handsome. Are you heading out?" He nods and sits in one of the barstools and watches her cook. "Yes ma'am. I actually have a date," She stops what she's doing and looks over at him, surprise on her face. "Really? I was starting to think you were never going to get out and see the city. I'm so happy for you!" She comes over and gently cups his face, smiling. "I want you to have a good time and be careful, okay? And be a gentleman," He laughs softly and nods. "I will grandma, I promise," She smiles and kisses his forehead. "Good, now go. Don't be late,"

He hugs his grandmother goodbye before heading outside. He hurries down the street, barely making the 11 o'clock bus. It was of course like him to nearly be late for something important. The bus is nearly full, so he has no choice but to stand. A girl seated near him moves her bag out of the way and smiles up at him. "You can sit here if you like," He smiles a little and nods, sitting down next to her. "Thank you," She nods and continues to smile at him. She was completely in awe of him, finding him extremely handsome. She couldn't help but stare at him, wondering what she could do to get him to keep talking to her. Composing herself, she turns to him. "Um..I just wanted to say that you're really handsome," Jimin looks back over towards her, not expecting her to say that to him. He gives her another friendly smile and nods. "Thank you, I really appreciate that,"

He didn't want to be rude to her, that just wasn't his thing. He wasn't the type to brush off anyone that was just trying to be friendly. She was a pretty girl and she seemed to be around his age. But, for some unknown reason, he had a weird feeling about her that he couldn't quite place. "I've never seen you around this neighborhood before" she continues, trying to make idle conversation. "Are you from around here?" Jimin shakes his head. "No i'm not. I'm actually from Busan," The girl's eyes grow and she smiles. "Really? I've been there so many times! I believe I actually have family there too. It's a really beautiful city," Jimin smiles and nods, thinking about his family and friends back there. "Yeah, it really is," The girl nods and blushes a little. "What's your name?" "My name is Jimin," The girl smiles wider and nods, her eyes softly twinkling with desire.
