It didn't take long to find the food truck that Jazmine had been talking about, especially when using his phone for directions. It was one of those ones that are parked on the side of the sidewalk with seating areas around it for people who wanted to sit down and enjoy their food instead of walking around with it. There were thousands of these scattered around Busan, making Jimin feel a soft pang in his chest from missing home.
Even though this was a normal thing for him, traveling from Busan to Daegu every year, it was still hard to leave home. He loved seeing his grandmother as well as being in the city for the last half of the year. Yet there was always that part of him that was homesick each time he left. He missed his friends and family. He almost missed school. Almost. Online classwork was entirely different from in person, allowing him to relax most of the day. But, he did miss being able to see his friends up and down the hallways and sitting with them at lunch. He couldn't wait to go back home during the holiday break and see everyone. Maybe even Yoongi could join him, but that may be a thought that's way too far ahead.
He doesn't see Jazmine yet, so he gets in the growing line for the food truck and looks at the standup menu on the sidewalk. He was deciding between a bacon burger or a double patty burger before feeling a soft tap on his shoulder. He looks to see Jazmine smiling up at him, causing him to smile softly. "You beat me here, I thought I would be the one waiting on you," Jimin holds up his phone. "I told you, google maps is a blessing,"
Jazmine is a short girl, having long dark black hair that fell all the way down her back. She is dressed in a brown sweater and leggings, perfect for the weather which was starting to get a little chillier. She is very pretty, Jimin thinks to himself. He didn't really notice it before as he was in a rush to get to his date with Yoongi. Jasmine, on the other hand, had noticed just how handsome Jimin was from the second she saw him. She was drawn to him immediately, even without the ill intentions that she had planned.
She was bitter and resentful about what happened between her and Yoongi. Sure, she did misstep and do something she wasn't supposed to do. She did see someone else behind Yoongi's back. But she was human, everyone makes mistakes! She still loved Yoongi and was at least honest about it when the time came to tell him. She didn't want to break up with him, he was the love of her life. And she wanted him back. And what better way to get him to come crawling back to her by finding another guy to date and make him jealous?
Jimin was perfect for it. He was handsome, wasn't from around Daegu, and probably had never seen Yoongi in his life. He wouldn't have any preconceptions of her and she could start on a clean slate. Using him to get back at Yoongi had to work, but if it didn't, she'd score herself a new boyfriend anyway.
"Have you decided on what you wanted?" she asks him. Jimin looks back towards the menu and at the line which is now completely gone, making him next in line. He curses his indecisiveness, makes a split second decision and nods at her, moving up to the window to order. He decided on the bacon burger, though he nearly regrets it when he sees someone walk by with a double patty in their hand. He'd have to come back for it again, maybe with Yoongi. He looks towards Jazmine, about to offer to pay for her food as well and she shakes her head. "You don't have to, if anything I should have paid for yours. I'm the one who invited you, but I know you'd probably say no," He nods, because she was right. She pays for her food and stands off to the side. Their food comes out at the same time, allowing for them to walk together to find a table.
Jazmine chooses a table that sits a little away from the food truck, which Jimin follows her to and sits down. He couldn't wait to dig in, his stomach grumbling in anticipation. They both eat for a few minutes before Jazmine starts to reel him into conversation. "You said you are from Busan right?" Jimin nods and sets his burger down to take a sip of his drink. "Yeah, I only come down here to visit my grandmother for the last half of the year," Jazmine smiles and continues. "Have you been around the city much?" He shakes his head and smiles. "No actually, I've never really been that far. I've just now started sight-seeing so everything is still kind of new. I've only been coming back and forth since middle school and of course no middle schooler should be out and about on the streets right?"
