Raven pov

the next morning consisted of getting everything packed to go to this place I was in tears because I didn't know if my best friend was even alive still I would dry it up when anyone came around which earned me an "are you sick?" which I always answered no I just have allergies but that lie seemed to not work on dad who just hummed when I told him that so when we were leaving dad put me in front of him on the motorcycle and we started driving I sniffled. RAVEN YOU OK? dad yelled over the motorcycle engine as it was loud. I didn't answer. HE'LL BE OK I PROMISE YOU. I turned and looked at dad he gave me a slight smirk

TIME SKIP

we got onto the rode we needed to be on and it didn't take us long to get to a fence which dad quickly pulled over hopped off and opened for the RV and a car we took to go through he then hopped back on and got through closed the gate and back in front we pulled in got parked dad put the kickstand down and got off taking the key out and then helped me get off they then talked about Carl all I knew was my friend was alive and would stay that way I looked up at dad smirking. told ya he would be good. dad said ruffling my hair I frowned then almost got knocked over as Dakota ran up. is that a wolf? I looked at the old man who's name was Hershal. yes sir. I said putting him on his leash. he's my pet. young lady I don't know if you know this but wolves tend to attack live stock and raid the coops we don't take kindly to wolves. I looked at dad. b-but he's not like that. I said looking back at the man who sighed. daddy just don't. Maggie- leave her be. I looked at the girl he called Maggie and then realized it was the chick who had come gotten Lori. it's you. I said she looked at me and smiled. nice to see you again little lady. she said

TIME SKIP

they had a funeral for this guy named Odis who died when Shane went to go get some stuff so they could preform surgery on Carl I stood near dad leaning on him some he slouched to one side as he had an arm around me Shane told them what his last moment was and Shane had this look about him right then that I felt like he was lying as I had ran into several liars in my time and I knew he was lying his story didn't add up one bit. After wards we started setting up camp I watched as dad said where he was going to start looking and that he would be going alone I never liked when he went alone to be honest, I wanted to go and help out so dad wouldn't be alone but I had to stay in sight of the adults who weren't going while I was helping my arm started hurting I winced. Raven you ok? I turned and looked at Rick who was standing by Hershal. Y-yeah fine. I said smirking Andrea then spoke. is it your arm? what happened to her arm? Rick asked I looked at Andrea giving her a look begging her not to say anything about the getting attacked by a walker... even if I was ok! it was still one of those things that no one wants to hear at all. I fell off the guard railing and cut my arm pretty good. I said to Rick and Hershal who had walked over. let me take a look at that, come on inside. I looked at dad who nodded and I followed them into the house he took the stuff off and looked at it. do you know if you've had a tetanus shot before? I nodded. yeah right before the school year started. he nodded. but it wasn't from the railing. Rick went pale paler than he was already due to giving three blood fusions. it was on a branch. he nodded again. how do you feel about stitches. I looked up at him turning pale. do what now? stitches. I don't like needles. well I'm sorry it needs to be done. I shuttered he got the needle and everything he needed I turned away and squeezed my eyes shut T had walked in right when the first stitch was being done. what happened to you. I looked up at him. I got cut on a stupid branch. I said trying to make myself sound a bit tougher than I was at that moment. girl are you serious? this isn't bugging you? I shook my head. I've felt worse pain than this. I swallowed hard as I watched the needle get stuck in my skin it didn't bug me too bad after he was done with that then wrapped medical cloth on it pinning it in place I went back outside and I hung around but when I saw a group consisting of Dale, T, Glen, Maggie, Lori, and Andrea I ran up. what's going on? nothing just stay by the house. b-but I have nothing better to do! I said still following them. and dad said I needed to stay close to adults and- Shane turned and looked at me and I looked at Lori. you know I won't stay by the house. she sighed. come on. she said as they started walking again we made it to the second well and I got down on my knees and leaned over bracing myself so I didn't fall only to see a walker in the well. ah looks like we got us a swimmer. I looked at Dale. a swimmer? he nodded we agreed he had been there for some time I mean the thing had gills! and we had to come up with a plan to get it out ALIVE just in case it hadn't already contaminated the water in that well I then looked up. I got an idea. they frowned I stood. we're gonna need some meat. Maggie looked down. we got some canned ham. that'll work, do you got a hook or somethin? she nodded. yeah in the shed. I'll go with Maggie to get the stuff the rest of you make sure no one else stumbles up on this. I said as I ran with Maggie to the shed I grabbed a hook and some rope and then waited for her to come back out with the canned ham when she did get back we ran back we got the ham on the hook and then lowered it, it didn't take it cause T said a canned ham doesn't kick and scream when you try to eat it. good plan other wise. thanks Glen. I said a bit let down as it didn't work we then decided to lower Glen down and put a rope around the swimmer and then we would pull it up AND then kill it. Raven stand by Maggie. Lori said I nodded and walked over by Maggie standing there. oh you people are crazy. I looked at her. yeah we tend to do pretty dumb stuff... but it hasn't killed us yet. I said as she walked over to give them an eye on how low they needed to lower Glen I didn't like the feeling I had that something was gonna go wrong the well crank that we were using to lower Glen broke lowering him to fast we all went to grab the rope I jumped over the hole to grab the rope only to start falling so I grabbed the metal post that was over the well that we were also using to lower Glen. RAVEN! Lori yelled as they struggled with the metal thing and I struggled to get myself up I was panicking which made me start slipping  they got the rope started pulling Glen up I looked down Glen looked at me he was screaming I breathed in and out and managed to pull myself up and get onto the ground and ran over and started helping them pull him up he got up and then we found out he had hooked the swimmer I shook my head still slouching my hands on my knees then Lori was freaking out. are you ok?!? I nodded. yeah I'm fine. I said standing up she shook her head. Raven Dixon do you know what your father would do to us if- I know he would end you all I get that but this is me not caring and wanting to help. I said as we started trying to pull the walker up we got it up and and then it got stuck on the edge of the well and then it broke in half. ahh that's just- I said about to throw up I looked over the edge as his guts fell in. so much for not contaminating it. I said and then looking at the other half T then killed the thing I gagged and shuttered I walked back to the house and walked inside and found where Carl was I leaned on the door frame and smirked he then started waking up. m-mom? I walked over. nope. I said he looked over I smirked walking in. Raven. he said smiling. w-when did you get here? this morning. I said sitting on the bed he looked at my arm. what happened? fell off the guard rail at the high way. he smiled then Lori walked in. well I see it didn't take you long to find where he was. I kinda smirked some. yeah. Carl you need rest, and you young lady need to go find some where to do something that won't get you hurt. I frowned. mom can I talk with Raven a little longer. Carl. I sighed and looked at Lori. how long till sun down? not to much longer. yeah I need to get out side, wait for dad to come back. she smiled. I can't freak him out to much... not after the stunts I pulled last night. I said walking away and back outside I looked around Dakota was in the RV and I was board I had no friends to play with so I walked over to climb a tree but I saw horses I smiled and walked over to one and started petting it. I see you take a liking to animals. I turned and looked at Hershal. yeah I tend to like animals better than people. I said petting the horse who had just nosed me when I stopped petting it. this one is sugar cube. I smirked. cool. I said brushing the hair out of the horses eyes. my foster parents used to have horses... Lila didn't ride to much anymore as she was into writing when they took me in, Allen used to say it wasn't lady like so I always hung around in the stables and would pet the horses sneak them treats brush them clean their pins I would just spend loads of time with them. he smiled some. and what happened? they didn't take them with us to Atlanta, instead they set them loose... better that way I guess. I said looking down I then heard someone walking up I turned and saw dad I waved some and he nodded. who is he to you? I looked back at Hershal. my dad, he took me in when I found their camp sight, was the first person who I didn't know to actually give me the time of day. I heard you like to keep busy. I nodded. the stables are over there, you can tend to the horses if you like. I smiled. t-thank you! I said becoming a bit like my old self again he handed me the rope and I walked them back to the stables and got started with everything. Raven? I turned and saw dad come walking up when I was brushing one of them down. what are you doing? I got permission first don't worry. I said brushing the sweat off of one. since when do you know how to take care of horses? I smirked. I learned at the last home I was in. I said patting the horse and taking it to it's stall. so uh Shane said you almost fell into a well today. yep... probably would have died too, but I didn't. I said smirking he laughed some shaking his head. you gotta be kiddin. I shook my head. what did you do today? I asked as I jumped up on the fence of the stall swinging my legs over. well I went out found a house looked in to see if Sophia was holdin in there. and? if she was she wasn't in there when I looked. I looked down and sighed. come on lets go back up to the house. I nodded and jumped down and started walking with dad. all in all it hadn't been such a bad day even if I had to get stitches. I said he looked down and shook his head laughing. or if I almost fell in a well today. he kept laughing some. Raven you are somethin else. I looked up at dad and smirked. I know I am. he laughed after a while I went inside the RV and got some dinner. you cleaned in here? I asked Dale he shook his head. I did. I looked at Carol. o-ok then. I said looking down  at my plate I thought about today a lot I thought about the fact we were some where safe, that my friend was alive, that I got to play around with some horses, just everything that had been happening today. I went to my tint and flopped on my cot Dakota looked up at me as he was next to my bed I started scratching him behind the ear. good night Rave. dad said kissing my forehead. night dad. I said he then turned out the light and soon I fell asleep
