Weeks went by, but things never got any better. The walls in their minds seemed to get closer and closer to each other as it went. Their sleeves got longer and soon their eyebags did too. Graduation became farther and farther away, and all hope and freedom felt like a daze lost in their minds. The shadows held against walls felt like the only place they could hide. They were alone, everyone's faces were fading away in their minds, everything was terrifying. Catherine squeezed Selena's hand as they walked down the ghostly streets of the night, having only street lights to guide their way. It was strangely quiet, but it didn't bother the girls, they just wanted to go home. Selena's posture got limp, and it started to scare Catherine. She never saw her sister like this, she was always perky and protective when it came down to it. But now, it felt like an empty corpse was next to her. She looked up at her and spoke softly, "Selena..Are you okay?" Selena glanced at her sister and looked back at the grey ground. Before she could respond a noise was heard behind them, Selena clutched Catherine and snapped her head towards the sound, only to be met with a child on the ground sobbing. They looked at each other as Selena bent down hesitant towards the small figure. "Are you okay?" The child looked at Selena and its eyes got bigger the more it stared. It soon stood up and brushed its cut knee running back into the alley way it came from. "Strangers!!" Selena looked at Catherine as they both walked into the lonely dark alley curiously. Soon the more they walked a voice erupted from the alley, "Shhh. It's okay. Now come and give me your knee," Catherine pulled out her reading light and turned it on shining it onto the voice. Blue eyes darted at the girls staring in panic, "H-huh?" A small white haired teen was staring into their eyes in fright. As soon as Catherine came a bit closer the teen pulled the kids close to them and backed away. Selena turned as she heard a car screech. "HOLY SHIT, CATHERINE WE HAVE TO LEAVE," Catherine looked and gasped, dropping her light as they ran by the teen climbing the brick crumbling walls, a yell was heard from below, "YOU PIECES OF SHIT GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE-" The white haired teen looked at the angry woman and told the children to hide as the albino pulled the woman off the wall, throwing her on the ground. Selena thanked the albino quietly as she ran for her life, holding her sisters hand in fear. They didn't know where they were going all they knew was to run. Selena slowed her pace to a complete stop sitting down resting her back against a wall. they rested for a couple of minutes before the nasty sound of a car approached. Selena grabbed her sister and pulled her against the wall. The car thankfully zipped by but came back around, Selena looked around and found a door to the building, she rushed inside, and looked around for somewhere to hide in, a closet met her eyes. She shoved Catherine inside and was about to get in as well when the sound of a raspy laugh was heard. She kissed her sister head "Don't fucking move or leave. Stay quiet." Catherine nodded as Selena closed the door quietly. "SELENA, CATHERINE, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Selena needed Catherine safe, she stood out in the open and opened her arms. "Come and get me, bitch." She darted down the hall as she heard feet trail behind her, she panicked as the footsteps got closer, she ran into one of the rooms and locked it, banging echoed as she panicked. She trapped herself, completely. The door busted open and her mother lunged for her but as soon as she did she was met with Selena's fist, she pushed her mother and ran out of the room going to the nearest locker, putting herself in it as her mother marched out with a black eye. She held her breath as her mother ran upstairs, looking for her, Selena heard people from the school come inside, confused. She quietly made her way out of the locker and to the closet putting herself in it, holding Catherine close. Catherine shook in Selena's arms holding a mallet. Selena lead Catherine out of the closet as their mother called for them, she headed towards the dorms next to the main building. She picked up Catherine and started running as soon as she heard her mother's voice outside. "SELENA, YOU FUCKING TWIT!" Selena growled running faster and faster, as soon as she made it to the doors she broke it open and locked it and ran. The sound of busting wood echoed causing people to wake up and become confused. Selena looked around and put Catherine on her back as she rolled up her sleeves and ripped a vending machine down, slamming it on the ground, as her mother tripped and fell, students called the police as Selena rushed past them and into an empty room. She blocked it and panted heavily. Nobody saw them run into that room so it was left clueless to where they were. She heard students try to keep their mother from running, failing as she ran past the door and outside. Selena huffed and held Catherine so tight. Students looked around and one of them saw Selena and Catherine, knocking on the door, Selena took off the mallet she blocked the door with and sighed. The students helped Catherine and Selena get into a safe spot, making sure the crazy woman was gone. Catherine started sobbing on Catherines shoulder as people started asking questions. "Are you alright?" One asked, "What happened?" Asked another. Selena kept quiet. That is until Nicholas was informed and rushed his ass over there. "HOLY SHIT! Oh Selena we need to get home I..I was so worried!" He hugged them both protectively. "Fucking shit..You're never going outside again!" He stroked their hair taking them home. Catherine wiped her face sniffing, "I want out of here.." Nicholas sighed, "I know, Catherine."
"..I want to leave everything behind me."
