Cassie's POV~

I was in a hot zone. My group had decided to all be assholes and ditched me, leaving me in a hot zone of Croats, which sucks. A) because Croats, and B) these people were supposed to be the ones who had my back and they ran away screaming. So I was a little pissed, and running low on ammo, not a good thing. I was running through the streets, surrounded by Croats and trying to reserve my ammo by only killing the ones that got close, but that was A! Lot! Then there was a click and I was out of Ammo. "Shit" I muttered and shoved it in it's holster, it was only a hand gun, my mom wouldn't let me use anything stronger. I pulled out my sword. I had melted down a few angle blades and formed it into this, a longer reaching weapon that could kill anything. I also had a few bullets I had formed from the extra but I'm saving that for someone special.

I was in the home stretch finally. And I saw my team waiting, at least they waited for me before heading back. My team was consisted of beginners, I was supposed to be training them. It didn't seem to be working. I jumped onto the back of the truck and picked up a machine gun and started to shoot down all of the Croats that had followed me. There were tons. I never really looked at it as killing humans anyways, I looked at it as putting them out of their misery, because who would want to be a Croat, they are horrible creatures. The driver slammed on the breaks and I lurched forward, nearly losing my balance and falling out. "Dammit Smith, I'm trying to kill Croats out here and you nearly killed me, watch your driving!" I called to the driver, who was actually a friend of my, Steven Smith, he was two years older than me and he too is a survivor. We were friends straight from the get go. "Don't worry you won't die, only slightly break that beautiful face of yours" he called back to me. I rolled my eyes. Did I forget to mention, he's also my boyfriend. "Yeah you say that now, but when you and the one that had to shoot me because I'm a Croat you won't be joking then" I said to him as I climbed through the back window. "Oh and please don't tell my mom I used that machine gun, she will kill me" I said to him. "No promises Babe" he said to me "You're an asshole you know that right Steve?" I said to him, "you bet Cas" he said to me "Dammit don't call me that, you know I don't like it when I'm called Cas after my uncle. I can't even believe my mom was going to name me Castiel if I was a guy" I said to him. "I find Cas a very sexy nickname" he said to me "Yeah, don't tell that to my uncle, and please call me Cassie" I told him. I could see in the front mirror that he was rolling his eyes. I smirked and slapped the back of his head "Don't you roll your eyes at me mister!" I said to him.

We drove down the street, there weren't any Croats in this area so we had the windows open. "So babe, how was it out there?" Steve asked me. "Well given the fact that you assholes abandoned me, not that great" I told him. He turned in his seat to look at me "Aw come on Babe, I wasn't there to abandon you, I just drive the car" He said. Before he turned around a Croat ran out into the road. "Steven watch out!" I called and he turned around but it was to late and we hit the Croat. The Croat flew into the windshield cracking it severely. Steve swerved unable to see and he crashed. I fortunately has my seatbelt on. We were surrounded in seconds. I threw off my seatbelt and leaned into the front to see if Steve needed help but I was to late. The Croats beat me there and they were already turning him. He looked at me with a please, do it look. I grabbed my gun, since I had been able to replenish my stock and shot him in the head. Then I started to shoot the Croats. I climbed out the passenger window and onto the top of the car. The rest of our group was a head of us and didn't know we had crashed.

I saw a small opening between the groups of Croats, so I took my chance, knowing full well that if I screwed up I would be killed, or worse, turned. I stuck the landing perfectly though and kept on running. I ran as far and as fast as I could. I made it to the gate minutes later where the watch was set up. They let me through without hesitation, since I did sort of have a hoard of Croats following me. When I was through they did the normal check and let me pass. I walked back to camp alone. When I returned I just wanted to be alone, although of course my mom had to be helping Chuck out with supplies, which we were also supposed to get while we were out, that didn't happen. I sighed and entered my room even though I knew I was going to be bothered any minute by either my father or mother. If I was lucky my mom was to busy and my father was off doing stuff with the other angels.

Yeah I did say angels. Both my parents are angels, well an angel and an archangel. My mother was human at the time of my birth but then she got her grace back not long before this all started. I was nearly three at the time.

So as I was saying before, I wasn't lucky. My father appeared in my room on the bed next to me. "Hello sweet" he said to me "Hey dad" I said "how was training the new soldiers?" My dad asked "it sucked, those are the worst soldiers ever, they ran screaming at the sight of one Croat, I ran out of ammo before I got back, they literally ditched me and ran all the way back to the cars, which we had parked a considerable distance away" I told him, "Well sounds like your day sucked.” "Yeah, you have no idea, I would really love to be alone right now though, if that's okay" I said to him. "What's wrong sweet, I can tell something worse happened, and don't try lying" he said to me. I sighed. "It's Steve" I told him "did he finally dump you" my father asked, clearly excited. "What! No! He died, the Croats tried to turn him, I shot him in the head per his request, he didn't want to turn, and it's just hard knowing that he's gone, he was the only guy, other than you, that loved me he has been my best friend since this started" I told him "I know he has sweet, I know he has, but sometimes people die, and we can't stop that, things happen, but we move on, we try something new, something we wouldn't do with that person" my father said "I'm not going to forget Steve" I said to him "I didn't say forget him, never forget the ones we love, even if they die, just let yourself move on, meet someone new, do something you will regret in the future, I mean seriously it's the apocalypse, no one will judge you if you start screwing guys" my father said laughing "DAD!" I nearly shouted, but I was laughing too. "Except your mom, she doesn't need to know if you ever did something like that, in fact I would hope that you wouldn't tell her something like that and you would come to me, trust me back in the days I wasn't the dedicated man I am today" he said "yeah dedicated" I said "hey I was worse, I left you mom for sometime, ran away from my problems, changed who I was, but because of your mother I was brought back on track, well also constant reminders from your uncle Dean that I need to face my problems, but hey nobody's perfect" he said to me. "Yeah" I said. “If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here, just call, you can tell me anything" my father said giving me a kiss on the head and disappearing. My door opened a minute later. "Did I just hear your father?" My mom asked "no, I've been in here alone" I lied "okay, because he is supposed to be helping out" she said and closed the door.
