I decided that now would be better than waiting to tell Steven's parents what happened out there. I just wished I wasn't the one to tell them. I put on a change of clothes, since what I was wearing was covered in blood. I walked out and it was only my mother and father, Chuck was gone. I was actually pretty close to Chuck, he was a nice guy, and he cared for people, but he didn't help fight. He did most of the stocking and stuff like that. "So how was training" my mother asked "it sucked" I said and kept walking "Cassie, will you wait a moment, wherever you are going it can wait a moment while we talk to you" my mother said "I'm sorry I wanted to tell the Smiths that their son was dead" I said to her and walked out. What ever she wanted to tell me could wait.

I walked through camp. I know everyone there. We were in a group of about ten people. Me, Hannah (my mother), Gabriel (my father), mr. and mrs. Smith, Steven (when he was alive), Cam, Pat, Eric, and Ellen (those were the four trainees) and that wasn't counting most of the little kids, and then there was Chuck. My parents were the leader of this group. There were a lot of other groups like this all over the country.

I arrived at the Smiths place and was a bit hesitant at first but I eventually knocked. Ms. Smith answered. "Oh Hello Cassie! It's good to see you!" Mrs. Smith said. "Yeah you two Mrs. Smith, there is something I need to tell you though." I said "oh anything thing" Mrs. Smith said. She was so clueless it almost broke me, and I never cry. "Steven is dead, we were on our way back and he crashed, and the Croats got to him before I could, I'm so sorry" I said to her. Her face fell, like any mothers would if they found out there son had died. "I really sorry, I made sure he didn't turn though, if that means anything, he didn't want to become one of them" i said to her. She nodded "thank you for telling me this Cassie, I'm sure this must be hard for you too" she said "yes, it is" I said. Although I hadn't cried I was still hurting inside. Some of the younger kids thought I didn't even have tear ducts. "I better go, my mom wanted to talk to me about something, I'm sorry again for your loss, Steve was a good man" I said "thank you Cassie" she said and she closed the door.

I walked back to my house, passing a few of the little kids along the way. When I got home my mother was making dinner, with what little we had. I didn't even understand why we went on food runs, my father could make anything appear out of nowhere, it amused me a lot when I was little. "Where's dad?" I asked. "I think he is talking to your uncle Cas" my mother told me not looking away from the food she was cooking. “Mom, I’m sorry about earlier, I was just really stressed out” I said to her. “It’s fine Cassie, I’ve had a pretty stressing day too, I talked to Cas earlier and I guess they want to relocate you, somewhere further from the hot zones, where they aren’t really contained and wander freely” My mom said. “Your father is trying to talk him out of it, he doesn’t understand what its like to have a daughter though, he never has” My mom said. I walked up to her and gave her a hug. “Mom, I’ll be fine, I’m twenty three now, I would have been moving out soon anyways” I said to her. “Yeah but you should be staying here” She said to me. I smiled. “Mom, I want to take this, I’m going to miss you guys, but its a chance at a new life, and anyways if you guys want to visit you can just teleport to me, I’ll be fine, okay mom” I said okay. “Okay, now let me go so we can have one last meal together as a family” She said and I let her go. “I’m leaving tomorrow” I said to her, kinda shocked. “Yeah Cas said it was urgent, thats all he would say though” She told me. “Okay, I’ll be in my room” I said and walked away.

I entered my room and laid down on my bed to read. I read for about a half hour before my mother came in to tell me dinner was ready. We were having pasta for dinner. My father was back now. We all ate quietly though, no one mentioning what was about to happen to me tomorrow. It felt weird to me to eat with my parents because since they were angels they didn’t need to eat, I guess it was just natural habit for them. That and I don’t think most of the people knew they were angels. When I was done I excused myself and went to pack. I put all my clothes in a bag and put the few belongings I had in it too. I had my gun, my sword, my few angel blade bullets, my angel blade (which I never really used), and a stuffed moose that my mom had given to me when I was born. I also threw my books in there, there weren’t that many. My father came in as I was finishing up. “Hey sweet” He said as he entered. “Hey dad” I said finishing up what I was packing. “I can see that you are ready for tomorrow” He said “Yeah, I’m guessing you couldn’t talk Uncle Cas out of it” I said to him. “No I couldn’t, but from this group Chuck is also going, and I think your Uncle Dean will be visiting once and while, and your uncle Sam will be there, and I believe that is where Cas is stationed so he will be there too” My father started listing off people and family who we trusted, and knew well. “Dad, I’ll be fine, you know I’m a good fighter, I can watch myself now, I’m all grown up now, but I know I’ll always be your little girl, but its like you said earlier, you gotta move on” I said to him. He smiled at me. "You really are grown up" he said and he pulled me into a hug "I remember when I used to sing you to sleep at night when you were scared, I remember the first time we planked your mother, and your uncle Cas, and your uncle Dean, and your Uncle Sam, and it feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms while your mother was out. I remember the day I found out I was going to be a father. I was stressing for days, but I never showed your mother. And now you are leaving, and some day you will have kids of your own and you will know how much the time flys by" he said to me. "I'm going to miss you dad" I said to him, burying my head in his chest, he was taller than me by a few inches. "I'm going to miss you too sweet" he said to me. He kissed the top of my head and held me at arms length. "You have grown to look a lot like your mother" he said grinning, "But with your eyes and hair" I said grinning back at him. "Tomorrow Chuck has agreed to come pick you up and accompany you to your new location" my father told me. "Well it would make sense since he is the only other person from this camp who is going to be at my new camp" I said to him. "You better get some sleep sweet, you have a long day ahead of you tomorrow" my father said "okay dad, I'll see you in the morning" I said to him. "See you in the morning" he said and he kissed me one last time and left.

I woke up in the middle of the night to screams. My door was flung open and standing there was my father. "Dad what's wrong?" I asked worried "the Croats have broken out of the city's they are attacking the camp, they are ordering a camp wide evacuation and you and Chuck are to be transported to you new location immediately" my father said to me. I practically jumped from my bed and grabbed my stuff. I was still in my pjs as I ran from the house. I pulled out my gun. "Use your sword it's quieter, they haven't all gotten in yet but they are spread out all around camp" my father said to me. So I put my gun in the holster and pulled my sword out of it's sheth. My father led me to a car where Chuck, Cas, and my mother were waiting. I stood there standing next to my father. In my pajamas with a bag of all my stuff. Except I was missing a bag. The one with my possessions, including the bullets to kill the devil. "Wait I forgot something at the house" I said "you can't go back, it's to late now" my father said to me "oh you bet I can go back" I said and ran off back down the street.

The house was clear when I got there. I ran inside and grabbed the bag. As I ran back out I was jumped from behind and knocked to the ground. I was flipped over and on top of me was a Croat. The Croat cut open the palm of my hand and then cut open his and slammed his hand down on mine. I screamed at that point and I heard a shot. The Croat fell to the ground dead. Chuck was standing there. "Chuck what the hell are you doing here?" I asked him as I ripped off a piece of my top to use as a bandage. "Come on Cassie, we have to be getting back" Chuck said to me "I can't" I said and held up my hand "oh yeah, you're fine, it won't affect you, the perks of being part angel, you have most of the protection that they do" Chuck said to me as he came and to my bandaged hand. "Don't touch me, I don't want you to get infected" I said to him pulling my hand out of his "the perks of being god is it doesn't affect me either" he said with a smile "now come on, and don't tell anyone that, that will be our little secret, and you can ask all the question you want later, and no, none of the angels know I'm god, now come on" he said taking my hand again and pulling me behind him. I ran along behind him. We found my mother not far from the house. "I heard gun fire are you okay?" My mother asked. "Yeah, I'm fine, one of them tried to turn me, but perks of being part angel, I'm staying one of us" I said to them. "Thank you Chuck, for saving her, please look after her for us" my mother said to him "you can guarantee it Hannah" Chuck said to her "thank you Chuck" she said. We all went back to the car and this time I was ready to go. "Ready?" My father asked "yep" I said "good bye sweet" he said giving me a hug "goodbye dad" I said and I broke away and went to my mom and gave her a hug "goodbye mom" I said to her "goodbye Cassie, I'll see you soon" she said to me "yeah see you soon" I said to her and I left with Chuck and Cas.
