Stepping in my toes

MAYAS POINT OF VIEW
I wake up and I see Spencer. I haven't seen her in a while because she was at home with her parents. "Spencer!" "Maya!" I hug her and he hugs me back. I head to breakfast and Spencer stays behind to take a shower, I get to the cafe and I order a coffee. Someone sits beside me and without even looking I say "Lucas we're not going to do this every morning." "Then eat. Coffee is bad for you it stunts your growth but good for you you're already a short stack." I give Lucas the death glare and he tilts his imaginary cowboy hat "well you think you can just bat your eyes and charm everyone especial with that Texas accent." "Well it certainly worked on you so I don't see why it can't work on anyone else." I punch his arm. "And you're one to talk Maya you just look at someone with you're beautiful big blue eys an you can get whatever you want."My face gets really red and I look at Lucas. He looks back at me. I grab my coffee and I take a sip. "You want some?" I say as I offer it to Lucas trying my best to change the subject. "Why are you being so nice you never share your coffee." Lucas take my coffee and drinks about half of it. I shrug my shoulders "I don't know. Plus you can have the rest."

LUCAS POINT OF VIEW
Maya walks away after she finishes eating. "Where are you going?" "To plan my parents wedding anniversary. And then see Charlie. you can come and help if you want." I walk with maya back to her dorm. I look down at my hand lingers by Mayas. She looks at me and says "why are you being so awkward? If you're going to hold my hand then just hold it." I reach for Maya's hand and she pulls it away and looks at me. She looks at me for a few seconds then smiles and says "I'm joking with you." She tries to hold my hand but I pull it away. "That wasn't funny Maya." "Okay. Fine. Then don't hold my hand. You wanted to hold my hand it's not the other way around." Maya continues to walk back to her dorm and I watch her from where I'm standing. She turns around and asks me "Are you coming or not?" I shake my head "I'm heading back to my dorm." She nods and walks away.

I get into my door and I text Lucas.
M- Are you mad at me
L- No
M- It seemed like you were
L- I wasn't
M- Why didn't you come to my dorm with me
L- fine
M- What
L- I was mad
M- I knew it
L- okay
M- Are you still mad at me
L- I don't know
M- Then why don't you come to my dorm and figure it out
L- Fine 🙄
M- Love ya
L- Love you more
A few minutes go bye and there is a knock on the door. I open the door and it's Lucas. "Are you still mad at me?... wait before you answer that." I hug Lucas. "No." I open the door wider so Lucas can come in. Lucas asks me "is Spencer here?" "No I haven't seen her since this morning." I turn on some music and I continue to plan my parents wedding anniversary. "So Lucas I'm leaving in about two weeks to go to new York for my parents wedding anniversary are you coming with me?" "Yeah of course your parents love me." I look over at Lucas and I say "they only love you because you're friends with me." He rolls his eyes and says "sure." Sarcastically. We stop talking for thirty minutes while I keep planning. But I come up with an idea for me and Lucas to sing the song we are making. I look at Lucas and I say "you know cowboy that this isn't going to be a hoedown so I need to see your dancing skills because I don't want you embarrassing yourself." He looks at me and holds out his hands so I can get up off the floor. I look down and I see Lucas with his shoes on. "Did you have your shoes on laying on my bed?
Take them off now." I put on some slow music and Lucas wiggles his eyebrows. I put my hands on his shoulders and he puts his hands on the small of my back. I keep looking down at our feet making sure that Lucas doesn't step on me. Lucas holds my chin up so that I'm looking at him and he says "why do you keep looking down?" "I'm scared your going to step on my feet." "Trust me." I close the gap between us and I lay my hand on his shoulder. I start to laugh "Lucas you know you're stepping on my feet right? You weren't stepping on my feet before what happened?" He back away and grabs my wrist tightly "I'm nervous. Okay?" I hear the tone in his voice and I know he's losing his temper. "calm down it's okay. Do you want to take a break?" I say while cupping his cheek and rubbing my thumb across it. He shakes his head no. He keeps stepping on my feet and I try not to a make a noise because I know Lucas is trying but it's so bad to the point where I need a break. "Ow Lucas stop please. I need a break." He rubs his temples "I'm sorry." I rub the side of his face "Don't be." I sit down on my bed and Lucas looks at me. "Are you okay?" I nod my head. He sits next to me I lay my head on his shoulder. Lucas looks at me and says "I love you maya." And he kisses my forehead. "Love you more." There was a long silence. I fall asleep on Lucas's shoulder.

LUCAS POINT OF VIEW
Maya falls asleep and I lay her down in her bed. I lay next to her and I try to wrap my arm around her but she keeps moving it. "I don't want to cuddle." I turn over so our backs are facing each other. I close my eyes and I keep think about what happened earlier. I kept messing up and I lost my temper. I'm surprised maya didn't get upset. I know her feet hurt. I steps on her like a hundred different times and I know that she was trying to be nice by not saying anything. I got nervous I just really hope this does happen at Katy and Shawn's wedding anniversary.
