When I came back to my conscious, nobody was in the van. I moved, trying to feel for my pocket with my hand bound to the seat. Of course, it was empty with no phone or wallet that would be useful for my escape.
Even though the restraints were tight, I somehow struggled for five minutes to get my hands free. After that, the new restraints on my feet were easier to undo.
I got up and walked out the door. The cold chill stopped me in my track for a few seconds. I looked around and noticed I was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a dirt road with snow piled on the sides. A white and somewhat green forest was dark and had my only escape.
I quickly but stealthily snuck into the snow, cringing when my feet filled with the white mush, melting in my socks. The sound of the snow crunching under my boots made me cringe more with every step. At one point, I was knee deep in the cold mush.
“Hey You! What do you think you are doing?” I cringed even more at the sound of his own shoes crunching in the snow. I was now part running and more jumping to get away. The man caught up, his longer and more build legs giving him the advantage. He grabbed my hair, twisting it around his hand, and dragged me back to the car. I screamed in pain as some of the hair he grabbed was being pulled out of my scalp but not enough to make a difference.
“Let me go!” I was tied to the seat again, then my mouth was quickly shut up with a rag. About half an hour or more of trying to get the restraints and rag off and swearing unintelligible words, I was picked up off my feet. My restraints were untied and I was pushed out of the car.
I was dropped on the floor into a large garage with a ton of heavily armored items and vehicles. The man half dragged half pushed me towards a door that led to a long empty hallway.
After a confusing maze of turns and encountering absolutely nobody, I was forced into a room with strange pictures on the walls and a desk with a large chair. A man was sitting in that chair, his face concealed by the shadows of this dark room. The office looked like a normal, boring office that was surrounded in darkness. My eyes were half adjusted the moment I was pushed into this dark building.
“Leave us be,” the man’s mysterious yet dark voice was deep and menacing.
“Sir, are you sure, she can be a handful?” The guy’s hesitation and anxiety clearly stated he didn't want to be here. That meant that this man in front of me was dangerous, and probably the boss.
“Leave!” the man’s voice would have made me flinch if I would have been more scared than angry. The other man holding me turned and scurried out of the room like a dog with its tail under its legs. A click meant that the door was now locked.
I stood up and made a growling sound in my throat, knowing it wouldn't work. The man got up and walked closer to me. The closer he got the louder the growl. He somehow freed the new restraints, without touching it, that the men carrying me put on my hands as I got out of the SUV.
I took that freedom as a chance to lunge for his shadowed face. I probably would have could scratch him if he didn't grab me and throw me across the room. I hit the wall with a gut-wrenching crack. My back and head hurt but I didn't feel blood. I looked up, slowly, trying to ignore the pain. He was holding his hand with smoke coming out of it like it was burned. I got up, just as quickly falling back down with dizziness. My whole body throbbed.
Laughter made me look back up. It was funny laughter. It was evil manic chuckle laughter.
He walked to his desk and grabbed some gloves. He walked up to me grabbed my arm to pick me up with a death like grip. He was about three the four inches taller than me so he easily lifted me off the ground.
With his free hand, he touched my chin and a spark of light passed from his finger or my chin, I couldn't tell. My vision turned orange for a second. When I could see clear again he was holding his smoking hand as if it was in serious pain.
I looked up at his face with an expression of evil. If that was a type of expression it should be tattooed in bright ink on him for everyone to see because it clearly showed.
“You have an extremely powerful protection ring, Crysta,” he smiled.
At first I thought I saw sharp teeth, but it soon turned to normal human teeth so I didn't get a good look. I thought I was hallucinating from all this pain.
“How do you know my name? What is a protection ring?” My voice was extremely weak but I managed to find power in it.
I Tried to free my and from his grip. I could barely move it without feeling my bones snap.
“I'm guessing your guardian didn't show his true self to you or mortals like you? Remember the blue necklace with your initials on it, or the stranger that always stalks around the corner with a blue hood blocking his brown hair. Remember? I can go on and on explaining him to you,” he laughed at my confused expression pasted on my face.
“I... I don't know what you mean?” Guardian angel. My wrist was now bleeding as I pushed at his hand, all the bones now probably broken.
“You seem to have a strong guardian angel, probably that royal guard. What was his name? Something that started with the letter 'G',” His smile grew bigger, sharp teeth clearly showing.
“George!” I whispered. Everything now made sense. That would explain his mysterious home, his behavior, the sudden disappearance, the glowing. It might also explain why he’s so beautiful. I couldn't believe I was so stupid even after George gave me all those clues. Was it these guys who slashed my tires and George who repaired it. It was all a trap. All a distraction.
“Yes, that's the name, George.” he growled at the mention of his name.
Blood on my wrist slowly dripped to the floor. He didn't seem to notice. I stared into his eyes that filled with dark fire.
“George, the protector of the king, yet he still failed,” he turned to a picture behind his desk.
The picture showed an angel with blue light emitting from its feather wings, blue eyes, and brown wavy hair. Behind him stood an angel with giant gold glowing wings. A field of grass and extremely gray clouds turned into a war zone. Many ugly demon like creatures surrounded several more angels with blue glowing wings. The blue glowing winged angels surrounded the gold glowing angel. A crown sat on the gold angels head.
George was looking at the golden angel. He worse silver armor with blue engravings that matched his cloak and glow. In his hand, he had a bow and black tipped, glowing arrows. They were pointed at a giant ugly demonic creature. The giant demonic creature had his hand against the golden angel’s chest about to rip out his heart.
There was no way this could be real.
“The prince died that night. Georgial was his first in command soldier. He was extremely close to the king. Now Their friendship is gone.” I turned back to the man gripping my hand. He had an even more menacing smile that made me flinch. It was like it was stuck there.
“Georgial?” he acted as if he didn't hear my question. Soon two fully armed guards walked in and grabbed me form his grip. It was as if there were listening the whole time and knew when the conversation ended. My arm pulsed in pain and relief from the let go of pressure.
“Put her in a private infirmary room. Make sure nobody sees her, except Jessy and his crew.” once he stopped talking the guards led me out of his office with blood dripping on the ground.
I was put in the private room with no energy left to struggle. Something was stuck in my arm and I passed out again.
