The next day was such a mess, I went to the office cancelling all of my meetings as I couldn't focus or prepare for anything. I sat on my rolling chair, looking at how the world was going through my big office's windows. It was too sunny and crowded. I loosened my tie as I pulled myself down the chair closing both of my eyes. "What could have been happening?" I thought. I couldn't figure out why did she defend him, did she lie? This puzzle was too hard for me to think of. As I drowned into my thoughts, I woke up to Fiora slowly waking me up. I looked up at her but couldn't see much more than a black shadow because of the sunray escaping through the windows. "Fiora," I slowly got up. "Is there anything?" I rubbed my eyes as I asked. She silently stood as she looked at me, "he wants to talk to you," she raised her eyebrows. I calmly rolled the chair backwards to see that it was the devil I lost to again; Sam.
"You!" I jumped off my chair as I made my way to him. "Ivana!" he yelled as I got close to him. She was there. She entered wearing a navy skirt and a white shirt. I looked at her from top to bottom, filled with confusion, "what are you doing here?" I squeaked. "I told her the whole truth Marcello," Sam mocked as he made his way to her. "Ivana leave him and come to me," I yelled in my place with tears filling my eyes. I saw how she bit her lips trying to stop herself from crying, but I couldn't understand what was going on.
Ivana
Flashback to the night before:-
"They finally left," he said as he looked back at me. I cried because I knew I had the chance to end all of this, but Marcello's life was at risk. For the first time, Sam looked at me with mercy. "I don't want to do this Ivana," he said as he went upstairs. "Do what?" I whispered as I cried. "You have hurt me enough Sam, what have I ever done to you? Why me?" I looked up at him. He turned back to me and slowly went downstairs pulling my face up with his fingers on my chin, "you are much more innocent that I actually thought," he went up to his room. I got confused. Was he the Sam who just killed Natasha? Or tried to kill me? Or ruined my engagement? Or raped me? Or caused me mental illnesses? Or was he just playing another mind game on me? "Sam please," I ran after him. "Have a seat," he pointed at the bed. I calmly sat without asking or arguing. He brought a small chair and sat right in front of me. The room was dim, as the only light that was on were the bed table lights.
"Ivana before you got engaged, who were you with?" he slowly asked.
"I wasn't with anyone" I lied.
"Ivana," his cold hands held mine. "I am the missing pieces to your puzzle," he said.
"What are you talking about Sam?" I took my hands away from him.
"If you want to know the truth of all this Ivana you have to be honest with me" he smoothly said.
"What do you mean? Why do I have to trust you? Why are you doing this?" I yelled as I ran off him. "I am just so tired! I can't deal with this anymore!" I kept on shouting as I roamed around the room.
"You need to calm down Ivana" he followed me as his eyes fiercely looked into mine. "Please understand that all I'm trying to do is help you" he took his hands off me.
I bit my lips trying not to sob. "Let it go Ivana" he whispered as he slowly pulled me back to my seat. "I was with someone" I murmured.
He looked at me while he was still standing, then he sat right in front of me. "Tell me more Ivana" he smiled as he quietly stated.
"I was dating Marcello" I confessed. I looked at him with fear and guilt. I didn't intend to say that to anyone, and neither admit it to myself. "Okay?" he looked at me asking for more. "What Sam?" I whispered as I looked at how shaking my hands were. "Why and for how long were you dating?" he cleared his question.
I tried to remember but I couldn't. I forced myself, squeezed my eyes, covered my ears, yet I couldn't find any memory between me and him. "I don't know," I looked back at Sam. "I was told that I was dating him, but I have no clear memory of him. After the car accident that I was told I had, I met Christian. He was my personal assistant who lived with me for one year after the car crash. That's all I know" I replied. "Christian your ex f-" I interrupted "Yes, him". Sam started moving his fingers through his hair. That freaked me, but at the same reminded me of Marcello. "Do you remember the car crash?" he sighed. I tried remembering, but again no answer was found to his question. That didn't confuse me as much as I was confused by why I was not supported by those answers. "Not really Sam. I am telling you the truth. All I can go back to is my life with Christian and what came after. I don't even believe that I was dating Marcello even. I knew him lately-" I wanted to continue before he stopped me. "No Ivana," he denied. "You and Marcello had a long story before the car accident" he stood up and walked away from me. I was shocked and scared as I didn't know what was he going to talk about especially when he was talking about a very sensitive topic. I couldn't believe that I actually allowed myself to listen and ask Sam about things I would actually trust him with. He made his steps towards the window of the room and opened it to allow a breeze to pass through. "You had an affair with Marcello," he looked at me for a second. "He was married Ivana. He was happily married, and finally expecting a baby. He and Veronica lived for 5 years together. Until you came along Ivana" he closed the windows back. I was shocked. I couldn't even believe that this was real. My emotions to Marcello weren't new, this was why I always felt more towards him without even knowing anything about him. But how so? Could it be that what Sam said was true about Marcello? Was he really married? Thoughts started draining into my mind like a waterfall. Sam took a break, as he knew I was suffering within myself. He left the room as he went downstairs to the kitchen, followed by me. I leaned on the kitchen counter as I watched him boil some milk on the oven. "How did it all start?" I murmured. "I don't have the right to tell you the exact story I know, because I heard it from my sister" he looked at me. "Your sister?" I wondered. "Yes," he paused. "She told me that her relationship with him was unstable ever since she knew about her pregnancy. He used to come back at a very late time, and sometimes even skip talking to her. They kept on fighting until one day he left the house. Unluckily for anyone is his dirty game, he and you had a car accident. He got injured and couldn't walk for a long while, but it was you who got into a coma and had a permanent memory loss. Yet you weren't the only one who was severely injured Ivana" he started pouring the milk into his cup. "Do you want some?" he asked trying to lift off the heavyweight that fell on my back. I couldn't reply at all. "It was then she knew that he was cheating on her. She always doubted it but did not have any proof. After she knew he was fine, she checked on me and told me that she was going to leave him; forever. I didn't think of how far-fetched her thoughts were about a 'forever separation', but it wasn't too long before I knew that she committed suicide, killing both her baby and herself" his tears started falling as he continued. "I killed her" I yelled and ran over the house. "I am a murderer" I started throwing everything on the floor, yelling and screaming, without any boundaries. I lost my mind and so I did lose myself.
